Sun messed up a lot with Nexus but no him hearing that his brother got reset with no memories and deciding to treat him as his twin brother with amnesia instead of saying "no you don't remember anything so you can't have that name and I won't consider you my twin anymore" is not one of them dfcgvhb

To be clear since I keep seeing a lot of people say the line "they thought Nexus was OM with amnesia" like it was wrong. It's not even that, he was Moon with amnesia, but that naturally means he is going to end up as a different Person in the end. If you took away 3/4ths of Sun's memories the same thing would happen and he would become a wildly different Person than modern Sun, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't still call him Sun or their brother even if he only remembers Moon by default. It just means they shouldn't expect or force him to be like the Sun he used to be. It wasn't incorrect to call him Moon, and in cases like it I don't think the solution is automatically he should get a new name/face/etc. I can absolutely imagine Nexus under better circumstances being happy as Moon, while understanding and holding the separation that he's not that exact version of (Old) Moon and shouldn't be responsible for him. The important thing is just letting the person decide for themselves and giving them the room to do that. We can even see the other side of the coin of this with V4, who has the memories but not the same exact code to connect him to V1, still accepting the identity of Eclipse anyway, and it is Lunar who chooses to separate them to make himself feel better against Eclipse's wishes if I remember that bit right.
