Old habits die hard 🫐🍦

My 3rd comic for my VIS2 class, the theme was “habit” and I found myself deciding between Smilk’s habit of not sleeping and Vanilla’s habit of skipping meals. This comic is actually based off a scrapped comic idea I’d originally written out back in October.

The colors took me a bit longer than usual, but I think it was worth it. Originally Shami’s room was going to be the same color scheme as Vanilla’s, since they’re in the Vanilla Castle, but I ended up changing it last minute to a distorted blue version.

I feel like if Shami were to come stay in the Vanilla Kingdom he’d modify whatever space he’d been given to fit his own aesthetics (to an extent). His room would be filled with books, artifacts, and most importantly, all his art projects. And since it’s his own personal room, it’d be more cluttered than other spaces since he doesn’t have to present it to anyone.

I’d like to, at some point, plan out both of their rooms fully (maybe for a longer comic or something), and maybe make 3D models of them. I want to give Vanilla’s room a little more personality, even though I feel he wouldn’t use it all too much (aside from maybe to sleep).

But I just want you to know that just because something you don't like happens, or your blorbo is no longer around, does not mean you have to obey the script. If you have an AU and don't wanna follow canon then don't.

It's your fics, it's your comics, it's your art. If you don't like something then you're not obligated to create it. You do not owe loyalty to canon, you don't need to perfectly replicate everything in it. It's there for you to enjoy and do whatever you wish with it
