Kawaki's ends justify the means mentality once again coming up made me frustrated cuz like, I know ikemoto isn't having kawaki think of safety measures with amado here. He should be! because I think it makes sense that he wouldn't trust amado with basically full control of how his body works! I guess as long as he doesn't have those toads on him? Kawaki doesn't know KK and he doesn't trust him so that part wasn't as surprising but c'mon can we have these characters try to think about consequences like amado is straight up going, I'll have control. Maybe this is just showing how bad kawaki's sense of self has gotten but he needs some wins. I thought this part was gonna be focused on his growth, so where is it! 😭
I had the exact same thought and frustration so I’ll just show you what I said to a moot about it
I dont mind if Kawaki gets used if it leads to some kind of payoff
Like for example lets go with dramatic effect ok, this is just one example not me saying this is what I want but bare with me.
Momoshiki and Code told Kawaki that he’ll keep being used by others, that he’ll never truly be free
And Kawaki? He rejected this vehemently
Kawaki HATED being used, he HATED being treated like an object, and just as Boruto fights against his fate of being taken over and ‘losing everything’ the fate Kawaki fights against is never being free and always used and controlled by someone else.
The pay off for Kawaki falling under Amado’s control, be it consciously or unconsciously, could be these words being thrown back at him again later, that see? He didnt escape his fate just like they said, he’s still being used, still under someone elses control, and STILL NOT FREE.
He was a slave to Kara, a slave to Isshiki, and now a slave to Amado.
He thought he had the upper hand on Amado because obviously he’s stronger than him and has the key to bringing his daughter back, so he believed he called the shots, that he was in control of what he did and how he did it.
But guess what? Amado nerfed his attack without his knowledge, put a shut down code on him without his knowledge, only amped his power to 85% without his knowledge even after threatening him to go to 100%, and now through this toad he will now have full remote control over Kawaki’s power.
Kawaki is completely at Amado’s mercy, whether he realizes it yet or not, the realization will hit at the worst possible time.
So for example lets say Kawaki is in a fight, could be Jura or someone else and he’s getting overwhelmed despite the power boost, Amado could determine on his own that its better to up his defense and lower his power, putting Kawaki in a more vulnerable position where he cant fight back, but any damage he takes wont be fatal.
Obviously Kawaki would demand Amado to raise his attack back up and all Amado has to do is say no and refuse, what can Kawaki do at that point? He cant force him to, and he cant make the adjustments himself, all he can do is get his ass beat cuz he doesnt have the power to defend himself but atleast he’ll survive whatever beating he receives.
But getting your ass whooped and staying alive is a fate worse than death, cuz Kawaki can just keep being pummeled nonstop and never die so he’ll feel all the pain but not the release of death.
Amado refuses to change his mind despite this cuz the ends justify the means, as long as Kawaki is alive it doesnt matter how much damage he takes, him living is all he cares about, so if he has to suffer the beating of a life time then so be it, he’ll survive, someone will help him eventually, so just endure until that happens.
Lets say this is where Kawaki remembers Code and Momos words, this is where it hits him that nothings changed, he’s still a prisoner, still at someone elses mercy, still powerless to protect what he loves because not even the power he has that COULD help him protect it is under his control, Amado controls how strong or weak he is, not himself.
This realization could lead to some really good development, Kawaki can wise up and realize that relying on Amado is not a valid method, its foolish, and its time for him to take back FULL control of his body and power because he refuses to prove Momo [an Otsutsuki] and Code be proven right.
This is where Sumire could come into play cuz she’s atleast more trustworthy despite being on Boruto’s side, but lets say Kawaki approaches her for help but in a way that doesnt tip Amado off before he deals with him, but basically he wants Sumire to take over, she has no reason to interfere or ulterior motives the way Amado does, the only time she’d back stab him is if he’s trying to kill Boruto, then obviously she’d nerf him to prevent that.
Anyway after he gets Sumire’s help, maybe Katasuke’s too, even tho its unlikely to happen canonically lets just say for this example Kawaki kills Amado, sure it’ll be shocking and sure ppl will wonder why he went that far but at the end of the day Amado was never really an ally, he always had his own agenda and it wasnt helping Konoha out of the goodness of his heart, hell even his desire to bring his daughter back is questionable.
My point is Kawaki gets rid of the one thing holdin him back, so now he can actually progress, if he asks for his power to be boosted theres no reason Sumire or Katasuke would say no, so now Kawaki actually is in control of his own body and power now.
I doubt it, but, lets just say in an alternative scenario, Kawaki kills Amado and just takes control over everything himself, lets say he figures out how to use the computer and tweak his own stats however he wants.
But overall I really hate this ‘upgrade’ plotline altogether, characters just getting handed cheat codes to speedrun to victory is boring and unfun to watch, even if you argue Boruto still had to train, the things he learned were things he was gonna learn YEARS into the future, him being told what he learned and how he learned it ahead of time cut that time in less than half.
Idc if he trained somewhat to get it, if he already knows in advance what to do and how to do it, then thats not really training, thats just getting the hang of it until you get it.
Naruto had to bust his ass to figure out how to add wind nature to his rasengan to create a new jutsu, he was gave the basic concepts of how to work towards it, but he had to figure out everything else and put it all together entirely on his own.
Boruto didnt have to do shet, he got told by KK, and just put all of that together as he was directed.
Im not talking about his and Sasuke’s training obviously, that was legit, but everything with KK was not.
The same applies to Kawaki now, all that he said back in 58 about the grueling combat drills Isshiki subjected him to DESPITE the ninja tech and karma he already possessed, Isshiki STILL pushed him to train which is why Kawaki was a pretty danm strong and skilled fighter already, and why he already had a knack for ninjutsu despite never officially training in it.
Kawaki was PISSED that they wanted to do pointless chakra drills instead of actual combat training because he learned from his experience with Jigen that even though the methods were hell, they achieved results, the training DID make him stronger and progress, so Kawaki wanted to continue that with team 7.
Now all of a sudden Amado is like ‘you prefer efficiency over hard work’ and Kawaki AGREES with that? Since WHEN did Kawaki just want an easy instant fix? Since when has Kawaki NOT wanted to do hard work? HE asked Naruto to train him, if he didnt like working hard and wanted just an easy rise to power, then why wouldnt he jump at Amado offering him Karma back? Why would he refuse? Why would he offer himself to Code instead of going to Amado to he could instantly have the power to kill him?
And why would Kawaki AGREE to train with team 7 and actually WANT to do combat training instead of chakra drills? Why not embrace that? Since he’d rather gain instant power instead, why not settle for the chakra drills since he plans on just going to Amado for buffs anyways?
It makes no got danm sense, Kawaki is REGRESSING not PROGRESSING, he has completely submitted himself to Amado, completely allowed himself to be under his total control, he knows he has a camera in his eye and that he has a shut down code on him that he can use ANYTIME he wants and do whatever the hell he wants to him while he’s out, and he doesnt care? He doesnt object? He’s ok with accepting those restrictions?
Lets be real about Amado for a second, he pretends he needs Kawaki to save his daughter, but does he really? When you think about how karma works it becomes very suspicious that Amado ‘needs Kawaki’ to revive her.
First off this is Isshiki’s karma, it gives Kawaki all of Isshiki’s power, Amado himself says that Isshiki’s soul is gone from the karma so there’s no risk of Kawaki getting taken over, its a karma thats purely power.
But he claims that he put his daughters data into it so she should revive, he doesnt say her soul, just somehow he copied details about his daughter into the karma so it should still be an exact replica, but the fact that its a completely different body, and not her soul within the karma, Amado is basically just making a clone of his daughter, not bringing his daughter back to life.
And if thats the case, then can you really say this is a ‘fathers love’ ? He doesnt want HIS daughter back, he wants a cloned body and a soulless copy of his daughters information, a hollow imitation of his daughter rather than the real thing.
Think of it like edo tensei, even if its other ppls bodies used, its still THEIR souls that are brought back inside them.
Akebi’s soul is not inside Kawaki’s karma, the karma is still very much Isshiki’s data, its his power, not his soul, and not Akebi’s either.
So realistically if you think about it, what the hell makes Amado think his daughter will be brought back with Kawaki giving her his karma? Amado has already transferred Akebi’s data to the Delta clones and they all came back different than his daughter for some unknown reason, so why would doing it through karma be any different? What if its not some technological mistake that she came back wrong in the Delta clones, what if thats exactly how this method works? And theres no changing it because its not her soul, its just data.
Thats issue number 1, number 2 is why the hell does he need Kawaki for this? Amado could literally reconstruct Isshiki’s karma into Kawaki’s arm, if he can replant it on Kawaki, why couldnt he do the same for Akebi? ‘He didnt know if she’s compatible’ he doesnt know if shes compatible now!
Whether Kawaki transplants it to her or Amado puts it on her himself, theres no knowing whether or not it’ll work on her, and even if it does, odds are all thats gonna happen is she’s gonna be the same Delta with a huge power boost now that she has Isshiki’s arsenal.
Now why would Amado take that type of risk? On the off chance his daughter still isnt brought back how she was, but is reborn as a hostile clone that hates him, does he not fear the possibility that she might kill him now that she has the power to do so?
Whats his plan if she rampages? He doesnt have one, and even when Kawaki said he’d kill her if she’s a threat, he said he would stop him.
The math is not mathing in this situation AT ALL and the lack of questioning of it is insane.
I dont believe Amado is a greiving father, its possible Akebi isnt even his daughter and might be adopted, I think Amado is just a mad scientist who doesnt care about Kawaki or Akebi, he just wants to test how far science can go, he wants to push the limits of what science can do.
Akebi is an experiment, Kawaki is an experiment, and now KK is about to be another experiment.
None of this is about a fathers love for his daughter, if he loved his daughter he would’ve tried harder to save her instead of just preserving parts of her and not even being there when she died, none of this is about needing Kawaki alive to save his daughter, if he could reconstruct karma on Kawaki he could do the same for her.
Amado wants Akebi back just to see if he can play god with science and actually revive the dead, its possible that ‘unknown illness’ was even created by him for that very reason, his ‘grief’ wasnt over her loss, but his failure, and then Isshiki gave him new hope through all the better resources he’d have with him.
This is why he didnt care about all the child sacrifices, cuz he was just as fked up as Isshiki and was trying to discover scientific ways to cheat death.
As for him ‘needing’ Kawaki, he’s just another test subject, him reconstructing karma was probably a first and Kawaki was the guinea pig to see if such a thing was even possible and could be successful.
Him needing Kawaki alive to revive Akebi through his karma is bs, he already knows reconstructing one is possible and can be successful, he can do this anytime he wants, hell if he cant because its on Kawaki then why not just kill him? Say the shut down code, kill him, then put the karma on Akebi.
Thats how I know this isnt about his daughter, it cant be, cuz he has way too many excuses for all the convoluted reasons he cant do more or dont have other options.
He wants Kawaki alive because he wants to test the limits of what all he can really do with him, like how powerful can he be, how immortal can he be, how much control he can have etc
Look how he just learned something new simply from watching KK, he realized those little toads he never used before could be used to further control Kawaki AND nab KK for his own ends.
None of this is about his daughter, its all about Amado testing the limits of science, experimenting, just seeing how far he can go, what he can achieve, and how much more he can achieve.
Now I could be wrong and theres more to it than that, but so far this is what its starting to look like is the real case, and the fact that nobody, not even Kawaki, has noticed this is insane to me.
That theory that Kawaki MAY be being mind controlled in the FF that seemed so farfetched before might end up potentially being true, cuz if Kawaki is already THIS much under Amado’s control, who’s to say by then he wont have even more control?
It doesnt add up for Kawaki to destroy Konoha, the thing most precious to Naruto who he wants to protect, but it makes sense if Amado is influencing him in some way.
Im not hoping that happens or saying it will, just saying it wouldnt surprise me if that’s where we’re headed and I do not fw it.
Personally after this chapter Im even MORE convinced the FF we saw was just a possible future KK saw, I dont think thats gonna happen at all, or atleast nowhere near the way we saw it, especially if Kawaki is in his right state of mind but his power is completely under Amado’s control, Kawaki has no reason to destroy Konoha, but even if someone else did it, obviously Amado is probably dead, or even if he isnt his computer is destroyed definitely.
Whos to say it was destroyed while Kawaki wasnt at max power? Then what? Kawaki loses to Boruto over a technicality?
Theres just too many ways this could go wrong, too much plot convenient bs that could take place, all of it boring, uncreative, and just plain lazy and I hate all of it.
THIS is the development we’re supposed to see Kawaki go through? I dunno who’s treated worse atp, Sarada or Kawaki, both their character assassinations is insane to watch unfold in real time and wondering how TF did it get this bad?
