im not touching that blue exorcist game with a 10 ft pole because a) I’ve heard that it’s extremely buggy and b) I can’t see it lasting very long. the gacha announcement posts on their Twitter get like 30 retweets MAX. I just don’t think the fandom is big enough to sustain a live service game so I think it will EOS soon-ish and I don’t wanna get attached
NOT EVEN A YEAR DUDE
Good Omens' Aziraphale and Crowley Have Never Been Particularly Good Genderqueer Representation
Or: I'm confused as to why everyone on Twitter is saying Asa and Anthony are "cis" when they actually don't deviate from Aziraphale and Crowley in terms of presentation, like, at all.
Alternatively: the most controversial post I will ever make.
This is a topic that's been ruminating in my head since the initial release of Good Omens Season 2, but with the release of the final episode and the following, rather angry discussion regarding Aziraphale and Crowley's humansonas Asa and Anthony, and their perceived "erased queerness", it's been on my mind again.
Namely: are Aziraphale and Crowley actually good representations of genderqueerness, so much so that Asa and Anthony's more normal looking appearances erase that identity? I don't think so, personally.
Note that this is not a) me denying that Aziraphale and Crowley are genderqueer at all, or that Good Omens is not about queerness (there are far too many references to gay culture in the original book for me to think that), or b) trying to invalidate anyone who feels represented by Aziraphale and Crowley. I'd be a hypocrite if I thought that, I feel represented by them as an asexual and they certainly never mention that as much as they do the concept of genderqueerness.
this job market is a fucking nightmare
this might piss some people off but I don’t think some of you actually ever tried to unlearn your hatefulness. you just came out as queer and decided your new targets really truly deserve it this time.
you. you get it.

everyone loves to hate terfs until they realise that it actually entails rejecting bioessentialism entirely and then suddenly you’re “taking things too seriously” and you “don’t have a sense of humour” like i’m sorry but saying protect the dolls doesn’t make you immune to terfism it has seeped into every corner of mainstream feminism and unless you’re actively searching it out and checking your own biases you will always be at risk of sharing a space with terfs
“Only women can—” nope. “But all men—” nah. “The divine femininity of—” gonna stop you right there. “Everyone born ama—” if you finish that sentence I’ll kill you. “Men don’t experience—” you’re wrong. “Gender isn’t real but sex is imm—” *loud incorrect buzzer*
It also goes without saying that bioessentialism inherently can’t be trans inclusive no matter how hard you try. “All men including trans men—” probably not. “This is only a woman’s issue—” is it really? “Afabs only—” why? “All trans men are like—” what? what are they like? finish the sentence i dare you.
Every day I mourn the irrepairable damage that cringe compilationers have done to the art community as a whole. Fly high possessive undertale selfshippers and amateur flipaclip furry animators. Your legacy will not be in vain and I wish people weren't so cruel to you
These are all genuinely so beautiful to me. If you don't think this is love and sincerity in its purest form I don't know what to tell you
If you even fucking care.
i know that “don’t harass people for being weird, they might be autistic!” is a fairly popular take on here. but as a Certified Autist, i’d like to add that harassing allistic and/or neurotypical people for being weird is also bad, and should not be done
and before you come in with “yeah, you never know who is and isn’t autistic, and you shouldn’t force people to out themselves!” i want to say two things: one, i agree. and two, even if you could magically avoid ever harassing a single autistic person, it still wouldn’t be okay to go after NTs for being weird. they’re people, janice. they’re allowed to be really invested in naruto
#stop playing the game of ‘who is it okay for me to hurt?’ #the answer is no one #the answer is ALWAYS going to be no one #none people is the correct number of people to hurt [X]
It deeply saddens me that "pdf file" has become slang for pedo. Don't you dare disrespect my wife the beautiful portable document format ever again
and to the children in the notes saying we need this fucking baby talk to get around censorship online; there's been no credible evidence that any site other that YouTube (which will only demonetize your video, ftr) will actually censor or hide content that include words like rape, pedophile, gun, terrorist, etc. etc. and even if we take as a given they were (which, again, they are not), do not fucking comply in advance, you absolute fucking coward. and ESPECIALLY do not comply by altering your real life fucking vocabulary. don't let the technocrats dictate what words you say holy fucking shit dude!!!!!!!!!!!!

unfortunately i can never hate on a "power of friendship" narrative no matter how corny because the thing is it's literally real
I hate you epitome of innocence being represented with blonde hair I hate you lightness representing goodness I hate you "angelic features" automatically being read as blonde hair and blue eyed with pale skin I hate you whiteness as the default for morality I HATE YOU I HATE YOU
Guess who's being the most annoying on this post
this post isnt about blondes and how its so unfair to them that theyre always viewed as good healthy holy morally upright outstanding people no matter what this post is about racism its about colorism its about white supremacy making people with dark features and skin literally feel evil. this is not about your stupid disney princesses or achilles or your fave anime boys being allowed to be unhinged feral shitty awful people and this sure as hell is not an opportunity for blonde people themselves to show their entire pasty flat asses and beg praise for "breaking the stereotype" by being shitty unhinged people. fandom people you are 192% of the problem. white people in general you are 1,000% the origin of the problem. this site is so unbearably white my GOD
when i was a kid i decided that killing people was bad therefore war was bad therefore the military was evil. and adults would tell me it's more nuanced than that and i would understand when i grew up. well i'm a grown up now and idk i still think that killing people is bad and war is bad and the military is evil
one of my main beliefs about my personal alterhuman identity is that to me, it’s exactly like being trans. i am a demon in the same way i am a man, it’s a self-made image, one I cultivated for myself and thinking of it in that way has helped me come to terms with not fully knowing Where the identity has come from, and in the level of importance i give it in my life. it’s a useful framework for me.
the only place where it fails, though, is in the Oppression of it all. perhaps this is controversial to say but alterhumanity (disregarding anything that could cause an alterhuman identity like plurality or psychosis, etc) as of right now is not particularly meaningfully systemically oppressed. lack of visibility and mocking is its own oppression, and the LATAM community went through some quite vicious reporting recently, but ultimately, if a cisgender alterhuman were to claim that our experiences were similar on the basis of their alterhumanity alone, I think I’d feel a bit offended. The symptoms are similar on a descriptive level but the lived experience in society is completely different.
Before I’m a demon, I am trans, and before I’m trans, I’m white. My sona is a hellhound, and I suit at pride events, and while it has been tempting before to approach the religious protestors in it, I don’t, because the optics of my doing that would have a profounder impact than my own personal species euphoria. Any kick I would get out of messing with people like that would be instantly overshadowed if it became ammo to brigade against my siblings. Like, you can see the headlines, right?
And I think for alterhumans, especially white alterhumans, that’s important for us to keep in mind. Our personal, ultimately niche euphoria should never come before doing right by systemically oppressed communities, it is not right to march into conversations being had by black alterhumans about the dehumanisation they face on a day to day basis to proclaim that you’d personally be fine with it because it’s species affirming, or whatever.
When you talk about being alterhuman I think you HAVE to be aware of the optics as they personally relate to you, and consider who you might accidentally be firing at by speaking generally.
It’s a privilege to be able to view certain things as affirming.
Nothing has done quite so much damage to my internal vocabulary as the construction #MyNoun. I don't remember if it was from that "tour of my jar, this is my twig #MyTwig" or if it was from "inappropriate attachment to objects, my tuube #MyTuube" but either way it was one of you fuckers on here. I do it every time there's my noun #MyNoun

its interesting being a weird autistic tranny as a kid and letting yourself get accustomed to the idea that youre just some magically antisocial loser who is "introverted" and is happy being alone and then you grow up and realize that actually you love being social you love hugs you love going out and hate being alone you just hated all of the social opportunities available to you growing up so much you let yourself romanticize solitude as a slightly less miserable state than interacting with people
"kin used to mean relating to a character back in my days!" so! no actually! it always meant identifying as a character
edit: this is in the context of fictional characters. shut up about the original meaning because this post isnt about that; im blocking anyone who comments about it
