Any other systems switching to Notion ?
Edit : Feel free to DM us if you need any guidance at all ! We are by no means an expert with Notion , but are always happy to help out other systems , especially considering how much this SimplyPlural situation will affect so many of us .
Notion is ( mostly ) free to use for individuals , weβve been using it for years for various purposes and have never had to pay a cent .
tell ur headmates ur proud of them.
tell your headmates you'll try your best and you appreciate their best.
tell the scary, mean lookin headmate they can always come talk & relax if they wanna, they don't need to always be on high alert.
tell the joyous whimsy-filled headmate that it's okay for them to be upset or down sometimes, too, they're more than just their positivity.
tell the scared, in denial headmate to take their time, and that you'll be here for when they're ready. they don't have to feel guilty.
tell the blurry, distant headmate you still care even if you maybe don't get to talk a lot.
tell yourselves you're proud. okay? ^_^
i saw someone say nobody needs to know what a .txt file is anymore. what the fuck is the world coming to
unironically i think we need to bring back computer labs because APPARENTLY some people WERENT taught basic computer literacy and internet safety in school
things about computers/the internet i think kids should be formally taught in schools because theyre important to know and the amount of soon to be grown adults i know who know NOTHING about any of these is quite frankly almost all of them (and resources to learn if you dont know these things, because its never to late to get better with computers)
how to troubleshoot by yourself when you have a technical problem
what common file types are
some very basics on how to use ""developer tools"" on your computer (because i cant think of a better way to refer to them) like task manager and command prompt (and their mac equivalents, terminal and activity monitor ofc)
how to read and understand a privacy policy and what your personal data is, as well as what it being collected actually means and steps you can take to keep it private
how to understand terms of service (hey. if you have trouble with reading legalese and worry about being able to understand these policies anyways, here's a site that gives basic summaries of privacy policies and ToS)
what a cookie actually is
internet privacy and your digital footprint!! seriously i dont know why we stopped teaching people that they shouldnt be putting their entire real identity online in a world where your online actions can ruin you irl
basic safety measures like antivirus software (and why you should use it or if the built in one on windows or mac is enough for you) and backing up your computer (also a mac guide)
common keyboard shortcuts (and on mac)
as an additional note: things i think everyone should know on computers and the internet but schools may bit hesitant to teach about for whatever moral/legal standards schools pretend to operate on
vpns and adblockers! (btw for most of these where you can pay for things im purposefully not recommending any specific software but seriously just use ublock origin for an adblocker)
how to not get a virus while pirating something
what a temporary email is and when to use one
red flags that you shouldn't trust a website (and how to quickly check the security of a site)
what javascript on a website does and how to disable it to get around paywalls
ok one last addition! if you want to take it one level higher, i think learning the very basics of at least one programming language is good for people. it makes computers less scary and it makes you feel very cool, and a lot of people get discouraged about it because it seems overly complicated and hard to learn outside a formal classroom setting, so heres some resources for learning the very basics of python (because i consider it the easiest language to learn and knowing one language will make it easier to learn others)
an online compiler so you dont need to download anything or worry about running code directly on your computer if that makes you nervous
a basic video guide to introduce you to python and walk you through beginner steps
a guide to some syntax and commands you should know (this was literally my lifeline in my first CS class)
some performance tasks to give you things to code to practice and assess yourself
computer illiteracy benefits our oppressors, i'm sorry our society failed you but please never stop being curious! the information and informants are out there!
Not now, kitten, Daddy has realized he may be multiple Daddies

Concordia First 24hrs Update
First of all β thank you all so much for the support so far. Reaching 200+ followers in less than 12 hours is honestly incredible, and weβre really excited to work on something that can help this community.
As a small thank you, we wanted to share a sneak peek at some of the features weβre currently planning for Concordia!
The Meaning of Concordia
Concordia comes from Latin and means 'harmony,' 'agreement,' or 'unity.' It describes different individuals or parts coming together in cooperation, balance, and mutual understanding.
Historically, the word was used to represent peaceful coexistence and collaboration, where many voices or perspectives can exist together without conflict.
For this project, the name Concordia reflects the core idea behind the platform:
Different system members existing together in harmony
Tools that help systems organise and understand themselves
A community-built project shaped by the people who use it
In short, Concordia represents harmony within plurality and collaboration within the community.
A question for the plural community:
If a new plural-focused app like Concordia were created, what features would you want to see?
What works well in current tools like Simply Plural or Octocon? What features feel missing or could be improved?
The goal of The Concordia Project is to build something shaped by the community, so hearing what people actually want from a plural app is incredibly valuable! Sharing this post helps a lot!
The announcement that Simply Plural will be discontinued has been a massive blow to our entire system, as people who rely on the website to be able to track our many headmates. We simply don't have the capacity to establish a new app or site that can track everything we have going on before the shutdown and I'm a little disoriented by this.

some of you need to re-learn the word "selfish" and stop calling everyone a fucking narcissist
can you let me in pleeeeeaase. i promise i wont use my raptorial limbs to attack and kill you
This will not be everything, but as a quick (not actually that quick) recap for my own "holy shit this situation just keeps getting messier and messier" humor:
The main dev of Simply Plural, Amaryllis, announced they would be discontinuing services in a couple months due to wanting to spend more time focusing on their own life and relationships.
In this announcement post, they refer to themselves as a single developer handling everything. This contradicts previous posts where they refer to a team running Simply Plural.
There are also plenty of people expressing that they would help run Simply Plural if Amaryllis wanted a break or to hand over development.
Amaryllis declines to hand over development, citing legal and privacy concerns.
However, Amaryllis has also been promoting Octocon as an alternative, which has a "no privacy" policy written into the TOS.
Octocon also has had several other issues in the past, such as not doing anything about an active predator in their Discord server.
This is on top of the pluralmisia and anti-endo stance that it started with and has only supposedly revoked. I say "supposedly" because people are still reporting getting banned, errors, and other such responses for even mentioning anything that isn't extremely sysmedicalist. One system reported that the app stopped working if they so much as used the term "factive" in an alter's profile.
Yet, despite all this, Amaryllis has apparently been working with the lead dev of Octocon.
Oh, and anyone in their Discord server mentioning the problems with Octocon is getting banned.
In fact, expressing upset about this announcement at all also gets you banned. Or at least, the channels get locked. If you dare use the Discord server about Simply Plural to discuss Simply Plural shutting down, you will be silenced.
This includes asking why Amaryllis started paid subscriptions for Simply Plus (premium Simply Plural) a few months ago despite apparently considering this for a while. Meaning that Amaryllis opened up a new way to give them money all while planning to shut down the app that people were giving them money to run.
Oh, this includes people who paid for a yearly subscription. Now, they are only going to get half a year of those perks. At best.
Naturally, people are wondering where on earth their money is going.
Speaking of money, let's remember that Amaryllis could ask for funds to hire someone to handle the legal concerns.
Oh! And let's also remember that a significant amount of Simply Plural's funding comes from The Plural Association. Some of TPA's plans for the future rely in part on Simply Plural. Those will now have to be changed.
Yet, despite this history and partnership, Amaryllis dropped this information the same day that TPA was hosting a big event. And the testimonies from various people about the event suggest that TPA had no idea about this announcement.
All the while, Amaryllis refuses to make Simply Plural open source so that people can make alternatives. Apparently, they claim this is also a safety concern. Despite not needing to release any user data to make the base code available.
Oh, hey, I almost forgot. Ampersand, another potential alternative, is apparently "good friends" with the developer of Octocon, and is shutting down some blogs, if not the app itself.
Said app wasn't even a viable alternative for large systems or those who use Apple/iOS.
Fun bonus fact to leave off on: the app itself didn't give any warning about this until the day after the announcement. For ~24 hours, the only way to find out that the tool and disability aid that half a million people relied on is going to be discontinued... was to either read the original post or see someone mention it on social media. Which is far from the worst part of all this, but feels like the cherry on top of this dumpster fire, considering how poorly it reflects on Amaryllis's management and announcement of this decision.
TL,DR: Amaryllis announced that Simply Plural will be discontinued, and everything uncovered since then has indicated that they are extremely shady, lied several times, and might have committed fraud or some other kind of legal oopsie-daisy, depending on how the money side of all this shakes out (especially when it comes to TPA). And all while this is coming out, the most action Amaryllis has taken is to silence people in their Discord server and send out a notification that should have been sent out the day prior.
This has been your very messy recap of this very big mess. Feel free to add on with anything I missed.
hi hello yes i have been dead. however i want to post about my solution to simply plural being discontinued: i am coding my own damn app because i remembered i am in fact a web developer and can do these things!!!!
some screenshots of stuff i have done so far! do not get your hopes up, i am NOTORIOUS for not finishing projects, but this is something i am hoping to release at some pointβ¦β¦.. even if the hosting costs have to come out of my own pocket! i have some friends testing what i have so far. ^_^

It's the fumkin #ocd
tumblr said we're not allowed to comment on posts and that's genuinely one of the reasons we've been here so little. one of the features of the site is fundamentally broken for my account and all the advice online hasn't remedied the issue (& it's not a significant enough issue to push me into reaching out to tumblr's helpdesk, but it is significant enough to keep me from using the site as much). i'm trying to not give as much of a fuck about it though. an incredibly hard ask.
