STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND READ!!!!
Last Saturday Rev. James Eliud Mwangi, a Woodlands priest for the Anglican church, was taken by ICE after returning home from work and is now confirmed to be held in an immigration detention center in Conroe.
Father James is a Kenyan clergy member of the Episcopal Church who has been living and working in the state of Texas legally, even going so far as to work with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Since his detainment, James and his family have been fighting for legal representation to bring him home. The fact that Rev. James was detained at all and there has been no major news coverage of his kidnapping by ICE is deeply infuriating and we must fight alongside his family for his freedom.
Below I've shared a map of Texan congressional districts given to me by another Reverend who shall not be named for his safety, as well as a list of congressional people to call if you live within these districts. I will also be sharing a script I was given for when you call and email:

Hi, my name is _, and I am a constituent [enter here whatever information is requested by the office, for example, your zip code — if you go to voicemail, this info is in their outgoing message and is different for different representatives. ] I am calling in regard to the detention of Father James Eliud Mwangi [spell his name here], a clergy member in the Episcopal Church, who is employed by the State of Texas. This priest, who lives and works lawfully in Texas, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) last Saturday, October 25th, while returning home from work. Father James is a legally employed Kenyan clergy member who works for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He has served both the Episcopal Church and the State of Texas faithfully. I want to express my deep concern, and call for action. I am asking you, as your constituent, to aid in helping Father James Eliud Mwangi be immediately released from ICE custody in a detention center in Conroe, TX. As a Christian and and Episcopalian, I am praying for his safety, for his family’s peace of mind, and for fair and humane treatment as this case moves forward. I look forward to your immediate attention in this matter. Thank you.

If you are a Texas resident I heavily urge you to both call and email your district office to advocate for James's freedom. If you don't live in Texas I am urging you to share this to as many people as possible and alert Texans you know. What ICE has been and continues to do is revolting we must bring Rev. James home to his family and community!
