You know something Ive noticed? The world is so fucking unfair to kids and teenagers. It isnt made for them, point blank. The school system sucks ass. Going to a catholic school as a queer kid absolutely fucking sucked, that I was sobbing, trying to convince my parents to transfer me, while having to hide the true reason for my begging. The world is made for adults, and, rarely, babies. Kids get told over, and over, that theyre too young to know this, that adults know just because theyre older. That teenagers shouldn't get involved in politics, where are they even getting their information from. Kids and teenagers get patronized over, and over, and over, and they cant say anything, because thats apparently "just the way the world works." I dont get how adults just immediately forget how much it hurt to be denied, to be told you were too young, to be told you were stupid. I dont even remember how many times ive been told im too young to know something, and how many times ive cried because of that sentence. People use age as an excuse to tell you to be quiet. Its bullshit. Its a power move. If they convince you your opinions and feelings dont matter, then they dont have to listen to you. They dont have to acknowledge the fact you might be right. You get told your feelings arent real just because they dont fit into how things should be.
