As on most days, you spend your time mulling over your existence. You sit at your desk, trying to write a damn poem about love and life and the shit that comes with it. A poem that's supposed to wash the dirt off your skin, to help you forget, and to make people feel something, but instead you lose yourself in the emptiness which rises to the surface of your happy face. And you stare a hole into the wall in front of you as your mouth forms a silent WHY. The ceiling doesn't give you the answers you're looking for either. Of course it doesn't. It's fucking bricks plastered and covered up with paint. But you keep staring, because although you know, it's just a wall, it's always been there for you, accommodating you when you were crying yourself to sleep, keeping you warm and dry on a rainy day. Those four walls and the ceiling above you have watched you grow up. They've seen you in your most vulnerable moments, unmasked, raw, and pure. Your eyes wander back to the notebook that still lies in front of you, waiting to be filled with the words you're too afraid to speak aloud. The solitude of this moment fogs you in and makes you wish back the days of blissful ignorance, back when you were a kid and didn't have to worry about all the things that could possibly go wrong, entailing even worse consequences. You keep telling this guy to stop making you fall in love with him, and of course you're just joking, but you also know that one day it won't be a joke anymore. And that's what scares you most.
