Through the fire

Good then. Oh it’s just for a my album called Hazel Run Residents. The other day I started a photoshoot, but since not all the people decided to join, I’ve been trying to catch some of you that did not appear.

I didn’t hear about that photoshoot or I would have been there. But take as many photos as you’d like.

“One, two, three” he counted, before he started to swim.

Yes.Is that honestly surprising?

Maybe. I just didn’t know that there are gym type of person and other types of persons.

She laughed, nudging Mika. “Oh, good to know our local firehouse is just a constant orgy. Tax money, and whatever.” She could care less, but she smiled, knowing Mika loved his job. It wasn’t worth it to fight him and explain how dangerous his profession is. “Sounds like you’re set.”

Mika chuckled. “I am still a good firefighter. When other firefighter nap though, I have my fun if I can.” He shrugged. “I think I am pretty set for now, yeah.”

No worries.

Alright. I am sure we could find a way to get it warmer.

“On three we start to swim?”

“Yeah...you count.”

Well, despite of it, you seem like a very good swimmer.

“Awesome”

“Alright.”

[Sebastian shrugged a little, closing the door and taking a deep breath as he moved his hand to support his side for a moment, before letting it go as he turned around] Just on the table is fine. I think Rory’s out, we don’t need to hide out in my room or anything.

[Mika walked over to the couch and placed the pizza on the coffee table. He sat down and looked at Bas, sensing that something wasn’t right but wanting to see if he would tell him before asking.] How’s life for you?

Well, I am not going to ask you to take your shorts off, don’t worry. I really am not that attracted to guys, just saying.

Alright. Then I am fine with you taking photos. What for?

“I mean, when I get my bachelor’s degree. Then I’ll have to find a job at least involved in teaching, so I can get a little experience under my belt, and then I;ll try to find a school I like and apply for a full time position. Is that what you’re asking?” She was laughing at herself now. “I think I’ll always see you as firefighter Mika. But I imagine that life get’s lonely. If you found someone you loved, and got married, and maybe had a family, you’d have to be away from them so much. And the job is dangerous, of course.” She shrugged. She was sort of just passing on information, not actually thinking of Mika’s future.

“True, if you get your bachelor’s degree you should use that knowledge and work in teaching.” Mika grinned. “Oh, life gets lonely, yes. But maybe I would change it once I find the love of my life. But I don’t really believe in love and casual sex can happen at work in the changing rooms and such. So I am fine with my job at the moment.”

“How ‘bout right now?”

“Right now? Alright. I mean I was swimming the last half hour, but if you want to try.”

Ah, that makes sense. 

Swim like a pro? Maybe. I like swimming and don’t do it for the sporty part of it. And I am sure you could learn if you want to?

You seem like a gym sort of guy. Figures. 

Really?

I will be bothering you if I take some pictures of you?

As long as I can stay as dressed as I am right now I don’t mind.

Well, you learn something new every day. Do you do a lot of swimming?

No, not a lot. I go swimming sometimes, but mostly you can find me in the gym or at work.
