...the use of Frankenstein’s monster here is so ironic it might make me burst out in loud inappropriate laughter because isn’t that whole book about how neglect, rejection and bad treatment can create violence, and how that’s the responsibility of the ones who created that situation in the first place. Well it’s also about a whole lot of other things, but insofar as I know the author was a labor rights activist and would have argued that violent suppression & neglect of the poor is what creates crime and riots and that it’s the authorities’ fault.
