Bee Florentine, a cold, cocky and calculating trades-and-businesswoman with a secret loanshark operation hiding under the guise of a calm and elegant philanthropist beauty. She was adopted into a family from the silent Qestir tribe and grew up on the steppe with her two siblings, Amastar and Aoi. She's a little bit arrogant, Bee did enough talking for the three of them and often got into bouts with children from the other clans due to her short fuse.
A few years down the line, Bee's family hopped on a ship headed for Limsa Lominsa where she spent her days working in the stalls selling things she had gathered and crafted and acting as a mercenary for adventuring parties providing her skills to anyone who paid well enough. She was earning a living, sure. In fact, the wealth she had acquired wasn't anything to laugh at, but she wanted to grow her business even more. Saying goodbye to her family, she got on the next boat destined for Ul'Dah.
Upon her arrival, she realised the reality of Ul'Dah wasn't the glittering city of commerce and riches she had heard about from the passersbys in the Lominsan markets. Bee immediately saw the refugees outside the city walls and once she was inside, the down on their luck debtees and workers breaking their backs for a measly amount of gil.
Any other person would have been struck with inspiration to help these pour souls and improve their living conditions, but instead Bee saw an opportunity instead. After establishing her shop like she did back in Limsa, she approached a few Ala Mhigan refugees and people imprisoned for petty crimes, promising food and shelter in turn for their work. Soon, she was well known for her philanthropy.
The accommodation she had provided for her workers was cramped and small and the food she provided was only what her business partners would have thrown out at the end of the day anyway. However, she used her 'generosity' as an excuse to pay her workers measly wages to ensure she wouldn't operate on a loss. Not that they would argue with her anyway, and even if they did, she would remind them that without her they would be wasting away in the slums or locked up behind bars.
Eventually, she started lending large amounts of money with exorbitant and multiplicative rates to anyone desperate enough to accept, casting a tracking mark on them to ensure they don't run off without paying her every month.
Despite her cold nature, she has a soft spot for her family, often insisting to pay for them without ever expecting the money to find its way back to her. When they ask where she gets all her money from, she just smiles and tells them that she's just manning her stalls as usual.
While usually prone to taking advantage of poor souls, she has a genuine admiration for other savvy businesspeople, often investing in their businesses and making them a part of the Florentine Conglomerate name, such as her assistant and protégé Royal Blue, and the Dionysus Winery.
Alexandros Pendragon, a softhearted dumbass who came to Eorzea after realising that forest life isn't for him. He hasn't gotten the grip of speaking Eorzean so he tends to sound a bit silly when he talks. Obsessed with the tales of heroes and Ishgardian gentlemen he had read in his forest while slacking off on his job, he left his home to learn from the best and become the ultimate 'gentlestman'!
Before being sent off into the forest, he was attached to the hip with his fraternal twin sister Kaia. He followed her everywhere and refused to listen to the village elders when they told him he would soon be separated from her. Of course, as Viera society goes, he was left to go into the forest alone. He spent his next few years surviving until he found a path leading to outside civilisation. He would sneak out into the nearby villages after sunset and party with the locals. Although he couldn't understand what they were saying, they welcomed him with open arms and invited him to dance and drink. Due to the Vieran men being left mostly to their own devices, nobody knew about his little excursions save for Kaia, who would sneak out of the village herself to meet up with him.
He eventually happened upon an Eorzean travelling bookseller during one of his village visits. Alexandros had never seen a book before and was curious, pointing and tilting his head. Much to his dismay, the contents of the seller's wares didn't make much sense to him. Seeing his disappointment, the bookseller took out a children's picture book telling the tale of a gentleman knight on a noble quest to slay a dragon. He was immediately enthralled by the story and made it his life's goal to one day be like the hero he saw in the pictures.
A few years had passed and Alexandros had completely forgotten about his duty to his home, so when Kaia told him that she was planning on running away from the village to live in Eorzea, he jumped at the opportunity to go with her, after all, that was where Ishgard was!
These days, he can be found wandering around Eorzea and helping anyone he comes across in his journey to be the next storybook hero.
Asmodeus Cyrus owns one of the most respected and successful wineries in Eorzea, supported by the one and only Florentine Conglomerate. That, combined with his brazenly flirtatious personality has earned him quite the reputation over his years.
His rich Ishgardian parents allowed him to live his days as lavishly as he chose to. Everything in the world was his, so long as he wished it leaving him spoiled, proud and arrogant. Asmodeus's parents' wealth afforded him the finest tutors, causing him to be proficient in many trades from archery, academics and the musical arts just to name a few. His strongest talent, however, came from his father's own tutilage.
Winemaking is a family trade for the Cyruses and his father's was one of the finest with bottles selling for exorbitant amounts of gil. Training under him, Asmodeus quickly learned every one of his techniques and began to brew wine of almost equal quality.
Asmodeus lived a life of sin, flirting with anyone he fancied only to leave them just as quickly for the next person to catch his interest, underground parties with morally questionable individuals committing ethically questionable acts, drugs, drinks and deception were all his ideas of fun. Of course, his careless attitude towards life could only bring disaster. All it took was him mingling with the wrong crowd to get his family accused of heresy.
Ishgard spared no quarter for those they suspected and he only barely escaped with his life while the rest of his family was executed. Left with only his own two hands, his skills and the clothing on his back, he fled to Gridania to make a name for himself once more, taking odd jobs and serving as an escort to earn a living. Living with what had happened wasn't easy though, and he soon found himself relying on alcohol to help him forget his past. Even now, Asmodeus keeps his history out of his mind, focusing on the here and now and doing his best to brush his past under the rug.
It was two years later when he amassed enough money that he re-established his family's legacy as the Dionysus Winery reopened in Gridania for business once again, quickly gaining the reputation it deserved. With a steady stream of income from his ever expanding operation, he can once again go back to his old ways. While not as wild as he was back in Ishgard, Asmodeus still knows how to have fun and enjoys mingling with others, partying and drinking, albeit still a bit too heavily for his chosen family's liking.
