we need to periodically remind everyone that a headline not including a person's name isn't an attempt to erase their identity from the narrative, it's just not good practice to put someone's name in a headline unless the reader can be expected to already know who they are

"if you can say the name in the article why can't you say the name in the headline?" what do you think a headline is for

I feel like a lot of people dont pick up on that: when youre texting with someone and they ask you a question theyre probably very much aware that they can simply google it. The reason theyre asking you instead is because they like talking with you and want you to explain it instead

very suspicious about any talk of needing to base your politics on empathy. like any emotion empathy is very easily manipulated, and even besides that that is a meaningless statement. im sure plenty of white supremacists feel pretty empathetic about the plight of the white man or whatever

you have to preface things like this with disclaimers that you are not pro-ai for people incapable of critical thinking but: its so awesome how much people post about AI having no soul and lacking humanity and merely mimicking some sort of innate Humanness while failing to address or contend with the fact that a lot of people are seemingly making work indistinguishable from the statistical average spit up by a computer.

maybe i was too mean to the markiplier person but also this sites ability to use any and every post as a rorschach test to prompt discussion of random fucking dudes i don't care about grates even when its on other peoples posts, let alone my own. you can probably get through life fine if the first thing you think about when you see a png of the human spine is markiplier but i dont want to have to hear about it
