Here’s that introduction post I totally didn’t forget to write

Hi hello 👋🏾 I was trying to have this tumblr mostly for books but I am incapable of running separate blogs for my interests, so everything is going here.

Bookish things

I got back into reading for pleasure 3 years ago. I mostly read fantasy and horror, but I dabble in lots of other genres. I’m trying to diversify the genres I read (i struggle with contemporary romance and literary tho) and read more nonfiction. I also read manga/manhwa/manhua though not as much bc I’m very bad at keeping up to date with them. Currently reading: Witch Hat Atelier, How Do We Relationship, Magilumiere Co Ltd, My In-Laws are Obsessed With Me, and a smattering of trashy otome isekai.

I’m a big fan of the Libby app. I definitely recommend it for any ebook and audiobook readers. Support your local library!

Non-bookish things

I like storytelling media across all mediums so you will see me talking about anime, tv, movies, video games, etc. I usually latch on to one or two anime per season.

I will primarily be talking about sapphic media on this blog, but you’ll definitely see me talking about media with various kinds of LGBTQ+ rep. (you’ll even even cishet ships bc i am a sucker for a good romance)

i stopped giving a shit about "legit" purchases of digital products after i spent $80 on the entire Dark Horse collection of Trigun/Trigun Maximum ebook mangas, learning that I only got access to reading them through a proprietary website ereader function, couldn't download them, and couldn't get a refund, and then literally only a year later, getting an e-mail stating that Dark Horse was shutting down that part of their company and I wouldn't even be able to read them anymore. Fuck that

Pirate shit. Don't feel bad for it. It's not "your fault" that artists, independent or otherwise, can't make a living. You downloading an album or ebook for free isn't the cause of the problem. The cause is capitalism, plain and simple, and pirating is a lucky loophole that will companies are still trying to stomp out.
