Everything was bright, confusing and Hana was totally out of her element. It was new, and weird, and how did she get here? She had a MILLION questions, but she had to play it cool here right! Find out information! Talk to people! People loved her right? She remembered that much. It shouldn’t be too hard. Maybe someone could clear this fog that was inhabiting her mind. Hana felt like she had somewhere to be, but if she couldn’t remember it, it couldn’t be that important…. she hoped.

So instead of trying to remember some unimportant thing she had to be forgetting, she stood outside of a local cafe that was called, Sunflower Cafe. It was cute enough, she supposed. She needed coffee. Who didn’t need coffee when they felt like everything was wrong yet they couldn’t remember what it was. She was obviously just tired and in much need of coffee. That had to be it.

Walking inside, she was trying to figure out what she wanted. She knew she wanted an iced caramel latte, but she wanted something else too!

Play it cool, she told herself. Tapping on the stranger in front of her’s shoulder, she decided to lead with a question,

“Hey, have you been here before? Should I go for the blueberry, chocolate chip, or coffee cake muffin?”

She hoped they had been here before. She hoped they’d been more places around here than she had, but most of all, she hoped they weren’t ordering to-go. She wanted to double up on whatever muffin they suggested so she could hopefully strike a conversation and gain some clarity on why she couldn’t remember any of the places here, or anyone she should probably know.

She had become custom of Koi and the world itself, taken some time, sure, but She knew herself better than anybody that It would only have been a matter of time before she would get adjusted to everything. There was, however, one thing that she was uneasy about. Which had been aware that anybody from her own world ( and others ), could arrive here. It didn't sit right for the other’s stomach, but she didn’t care to make a comment about it to anybody ( not even to her own husband. )

Of course, such thoughts would begin to take a toll on Byleth. They needed something to keep their mind occupied, taking a stroll along the street. Their expression was blank, as though not caring much about their surroundings which were far from the truth. It wasn’t like they had not cared, actually, they did. But there was nothing that had caught their attention... Not until they found themselves stopping suddenly, emerald eyes blinking as her head turned to notice what seemed to have been a little store or a cafe from what the sign had read.

At first, Byleth knew little of what cafe was, as such a place never existed but overtime after some reading and speaking with citizens of Koi. She had a grip of what It was now, with that being said...The Sunflower Cafe had caught their interest, while still being rather uncertain about said place. It did no harm to check in and see what It had in store.

And with that, Byleth entered inside the place. The first thing that they had immediately noticed was the baked sweets and another scent that If she remembered correctly was coffee. While simply, she didn’t know much about coffee however the baked good were a different story. Reading along with the menu, deciding on whether she wanted something or end up getting nothing in the end.

Mind linger long on the thought, not even hearing the sound of somebody else entering the Cafe only finally realizing it when they felt somebody tapping their shoulder. Head tilt from the side slightly as turned to face them, confused at first. Until a question was dropped ‘pon them about the menu ( oh dear... )

❛ No, It’s my first time here. ❜ She answered, a hand resting under her chin with a humming around being heard from them, deciding on how to answer the question. ❛ ---...What do you usually prefer? If all, then you can have one of each. It does not harm in doing that now, hm? ❜

When he sees her there, he just can’t help himself. Sure, it didn’t feel like all that long ago since he’d last seen Byleth, but finding her here in this strange place… Ashe can’t fight off the relief it brings him. They’ve always been a comfort to have around; a safe place in the storm of their lives. Even when they were all apart for years, the memories that lingered kept her presence anchored until they returned again. It feels a lot like that all of a sudden.

So he breaks away from his wandering to run directly to her, half bowling himself over in the attempt to catch ( what he believes is ) his former teacher’s attention.

“Professor!” he calls, one arm up in the air and waving in spite of the looks it garners from passersby. “Hey, w-wait up a second!”

❰ ꜰʟᴀᴍᴇ ᴄʀᴇsᴛ ❱ ━━

The very moment that they heard a familiar voice, immediately stopping Byleth’s eyes widen noticing an arm waving at her. They hardly needed a moment who it was that was calling for them, ( It was Ashe. That much was certain. ) There was both a shocked but also a sense of... Ease as well. Still, hadn’t Ashe lost his life during the war? Or were they perhaps wrong and he had survived? ( That would be the only exclamation of, how he would be here alive... )

❛ Ashe... ❜

She uttered his name, a hint of hesitating at first ( remaining herself that it’ll be alright, and she had nothing to worry about ) before she begins to walk towards the direction to where she could see the other’s arms waving. It would only take a matter of seconds before she would finally reach to him, speechless at first unsure of what she was seeing was actually there or not and yet...

❛ You... ❜ A pause. ❛ I’m glad to see you again--- ❜

Okay. That was a new one. Certainly waking up in this place that he had never seen on the map should already be enough to throw him off, but Ahn had accustomed himself pretty decently (mainly by sulking in his apartment and whining about how much he missed home, but hey he was holding up) and he was getting decently used to this new place. But green hair? That was a new one.

Of course the less be said about his own outfit – a sweater that was far too hot for this warm summer weather – the better, but he had his reasons. Chances were the girls also had reasons of her own, both for her attire and her hair colour. The first thing Ahn could think of was that she had to be some kind of celebrity. Honestly he didn’t follow the latest fads as much as he liked to pretend he did, but was there really one Korean person who didn’t know at least some bits about kpop? Fancy outfits and hairdos were a must, that much he had gathered. Was this his chance to get to know someone famous? “Are you an idol?” He found himself asking with both curiosity and a knowing expression upon his features. “You definitely are, aren’t you?”

It would not be the first nor the last somebody would ask them a strange question, there were things that Byleth could recall that never felt right for somebody to ask. Such as growing up with a few people asking them numerous of times if Jeralt were actually their father or not, it was to the point that they began to simply answer the questions with a joke instead of a serious response. Of course, there were other questions that they had received but this was by far the most... interesting to say the least.

Head tilts slightly from the side, a confused expression was present on their feature with lips parting she uttered the word. ❛ Idol? ❜ Under her breath, her tone matching her expression. There were many things that Byleth knew but the world ‘Idol’ was far from anything they knew or ever heard of.

❛ I’m not an idol... I think. ❜ They answered finally, sounding rather uncertain with their response. If it had been Seteth that they were speaking with, he would have likely taken her as a joke rather than an actual serious response ( it wouldn't have been the first such a thing happened. )

➼┊ This place was … warm, welcoming, though a bit off-putting by the fact he has no clue how he got here and only knew what the place was called because he was greeted when magically arriving. How strange … Was he still in his own world ? But this place … it was nothing like fodlan or almyra … is there someplace in their world that is like this ? He doubted it, highly doubted it in fact. He has already spent much of his time looking around, mesmerizing locations, and getting a feel for all the new things he was experiencing. The cellphones he had gotten was strange but with a bit of fiddling he had at least figured out the basics (or so he believes).

➼┊ He was thinking a few things over while looking at the cellular device, but his thoughts were very quickly interrupted when he heard his name and a very familiar voice. His eyes went wide as he turned. A shocked expression on his face as he heard his wife speak once more, speaking of her own surprise of finding him here. His expression quickly went from shock to joy as he went over to her, putting his hands under her arms and hoisting her into the air as if she were a baby. He was excited to see her, as he adored her more than anything ! They had been so so many things together and he couldn’t bare the thought of being away from her again.

❛ Byleth - ! I don’t think anyone here thought they’d be here, but for one reason or another, we are here, in this place. Can’t say I know why but if we are here together I know we can figure it out ❜

Such the reaction caught the other off-guard, it wasn’t something she’s ever seen him do. Not that she minded them, actually, far from it. It was rather welcoming to her, and it made her well aware that this was her husband. His words, however, cause her lips to curve into a doubtful smile, something that while wasn’t new for them. It hadn’t been unusual for them to express such feelings ( they were known to react little to such things after all. )

She spoke, cheerful grin not leaving her lips. She’s been blessed with being able to see him, while not the ideal moment. It was better than never being able to see him again, as long as he was here by her side than she could do almost anything ( not as through, she wouldn’t have been able to function if he hadn’t been here. )

Of course, that bought up another question that had started to linger in her mind. Had he been here long or did he simple arrived a moment ago, and if he had been here long if he knew anything of said world. They weren’t one to ask too many questions, but they had to start somewhere now.

The words hit her harder than any phage ever could and the hurt is instantaneous; her feature remained neutral as though they wouldn’t affect by the words. Byleth’s hands ball into fists at her sides; she could feel her nails digging into her palms. They did not need to be reminded, reminded of the possibility that everything they’ve worked so hard for would be for nothing or worse do more harm than good.

Many lives were sacrificed during the war, many who Byleth knew and even had to fight against those that were familiar faces to them. The least she could do was to make Fódlan a good place; but instead she was away from it. For all that she knew she could have been close to Fódlan but unable to reach it or possibly be in another world.

Perhaps, such a thought shouldn’t cross their mind. But every day was becoming more and more of a struggle; it practically a miracle that Byleth was able to hold themselves together for this long ( but they did and they have no plan on showing any sort of weakness. )

She opens her mouth to say something, anything, but no words came out. They were right. She thought. Will such an event like that come out as positive as she thinks it would? Byleth wished she could speak with Sothis right now, Sothis was always there for her. She could have asked what Sothis would do in this situation, perhaps, ask if they had made the right choice.

Maybe Sothis wou—… No, It wasn’t right for them to be thinking themselves like this. The only thing Sothis would have done is scold them for thinking such a thought, calling them a child no less…

❛ …I don’t know. ❜

She utters, her tone holds none of its usual gentlenesses. She had no mean of sounding harsh, but it came out as such.

❛ I can’t say that It will come out as positive as I would hope, but I can do the best of my ability to try and make it happen. ❜ ( And that was all that they could hope to do. Was simply hope such an outcome will come out positive. )

Fingers flip a page of the book resting on her lap, a temporary escape from all that has happened thus far in this place. Attention would-be focus, however, by the sound of her doorknob turning. Eyes glance up for a moment before turning her attention back to the page, she had not been surprised over Claude present. Byleth had been the one that invited him over, no matter how many times they’ve seen his face.

They could never grow tired of it, it’s was always refreshing to them. — Taking a seat next to them, Byleth could sense his eyes on her for some time now, their lips almost part, they had the plan to ask If there had been something on her face but instead he broke the silence with words so sweet that she immediately stopped what she had been doing.

Such compliments were not new to the maiden, she had received such a thing often from people. Yet, it had felt different when hearing him say those words. She feels the slightest bit of heat upon her features at his words, lips curving into a smile and with a soft voice, she utters a reply.

— It was frustrating. She’s been trying days and nights to catch up with her sleep, but no matter what she did. It wasn’t easy. Of course, there would be a moment where they would finally fall asleep but such a thing would only last for an hour or two at most. — It had been a miracle that Byleth been able to function thus far, but, it had only been a matter of time before such a thing would start to become a struggle.

A yawn escaped their lips, eyes blinking multiple times an attempt to stay awake especially at the present of Ashe. She had enjoyed being able to speak with Ashe, it was comforting, to say the least. The conversation had been going smoothly until she noticed something in Ashe’s expression ( worried? )

At that moment they were about to speak only to have their question be answered with a single sentence.

“You look tired.”

Silence. Complete silences.

They had hoped that he wouldn’t notice the small bit of bags under their eyes ( Ah, but Ashe did have a keen eye for things now didn’t he? )

❛ …I haven’t been able to sleep much. ❜ She answered honestly, not that there would be a need to keep it such a secret nor was she trying to do so. Despite the mental exhaustion that seems to follow them, Byleth finds that they can’t sleep in. They had a similar problem like this back in the Monastery, nights where they would be unable to sleep. And it had taken countless nights, where they had to distract themselves by strolling at late of the hours or reading about the Monastery in the library that they had. Tonight Byleth wanted to read, maybe learn something about this place and If not... It was worth the try.

With fingers taking the edge of the page, there was a soft sigh escaping their lips. Only when she was about to flip the page, that they heard a sound. Emerald eyes immediately shifting to the direction, she shows no hesitation when noticing a figure --- Instead of saying something, she decided to continue on reading, only glancing a few times to see if the figure had moved or done something.

To be in a new land that they truly had no recollection of how they’ve gotten here, was hardly something to stomach. Perhaps, they have fallen asleep again without any sort of realization to it? Koi Welcomed with warm arms, better than most places that they have been. Still, she knew to never keep her guard down. However, such worries would be washed away the moment she saw a familiar face.
