What a fortunate accident, inadvertently brushing against a similar closed body. We barely breathed in the other's direction, antennae upright, wings folded. A scent-driven process shared, part planned, part happenstance. But how we dove in together, as moths to night-nectar feeding, the allure of flowers intoxicating long after day's end. Held like pollen on proboscis, our trembling softness transferred to safety; our feathered differences easily identifiable, yet this is what happens when slender hope finds a home.
