IMPORTANT MESSAGE - PLEASE REBLOG
Hello everyone! Megg here! As always, thanks so much for all the nominations you’ve submitted so far! We are certainly rolling along at full speed!
After a discussion between the members of our mod team, we’ve had to make a bit of a change regarding anonymous asks submitted to our inbox.
Over the past week or so, we’ve been swarmed with a large amount of anon asks, much more than usual, and several of these asks have been one of three categories:
1. Questions concerning FC qualifications and/or rules, some of which require mods to ask follow-up questions, and thus could be explained much more easily via Tumblr PM’s or on our Feudal Connection Discord Server (which is open to anyone who wishes to join, and if you still wish your question to remain anonymous you can DM us there as well)
2. Short, repetitive statements (not questions) that leave us unsure how to even reply
3. Questions or concerns that, while valid and certainly worth our time to answer, are worded in a very impatient/demanding/entitled tone
All three of these are becoming an issue for us, but it is the third category that I would like to directly address for a moment.
Everything about Feudal Connection - the creation of the awards, the deciding of categories and rules, the management of both this blog and our Discord server, the nomination/winner banners, the voting system, ALL OF IT - is maintained by VOLUNTEERS.
We are always trying to give answers and solve issues as quickly as we can, and we will always appreciate hearing your feedback.
But please remember - we are a small group of very busy, very stressed human beings, scattered across literal continents, and we are doing the best we can. Rest assured that if we aren’t solving your problem instantaneously, we have added it to our list of things we need to tweak and fix (and trust me, that list is always LONG).
So to ease our collective minds, to keep our Tumblr ask box clearer so that submitted nominations aren’t delayed by getting lost in the flood, and to enable us to address participants’ legitimate inquiries…
WE WILL BE TURNING OFF ANONYMOUS ASKS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS QUARTER (AND PERHAPS EVEN AFTERWARD).
Please understand that this decision was not come to lightly, as we know that at least a small portion of you prefer to remain anonymous when asking questions.
But, unfortunately, we’ve been getting one too many asks that are rude or spam-like, and we keep having to stop and address said asks, only to get a similar one (or two, three, four, etc) just minutes later.
This is keeping our attention away from not only checking, logging, and posting nominations, but also our process of notifying FC nominees via other online platforms, our correspondence with the lovely volunteers who create our award/nomination banners, and our preparation for the upcoming voting phase this quarter.
If you still wish to submit an ask on our Tumblr page and you would like your identity to remain anonymous, you can either PM a mod and have them answer you as soon as possible, or you can submit a logged-in ask and just request that we not reveal who you are. In the case of the latter, we will simply answer the ask as a text post.
We apologize to anyone who may be inconvenienced by this, but we collectively feel that this is the best way to handle this moving forward.
PLEASE REBLOG THIS FOR VISIBILITY, AND THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP MAINTAINING THE INCLUSIVE AND FUN NATURE THAT FEUDAL CONNECTION STRIVES FOR!
