Gaeril and Alusys are dressed in outfits inspired by the sun and the moon, as they are quite opposite as people. Gaeril is shy and withdrawn while Alusys is outgoing and outspoken, but they balance each other perfectly :)
Alusys looked herself over, one last time, smiling at her reflection. She was so very excited, and kind of nervous, about the ball. It had always been her dream to attend one, but she had never imagined she’d be singing. She inhaled deeply as she gently hopped off of her stool to slip into her shoes.
“I wonder where Gaeril is…”
Her brows creased ever so slightly as a little pang of worry hit her. The once extremely shy and socially awkward man had been doing a lot better once he settled into his new role. Handling most things with care and grace, as one should. However… a ball was quite different from the smaller gatherings they both had grown accustomed to.
She pushed through the door, the long train on her gown gliding across the floor.
“I’ll go to the stairs as we planned… if he isn’t there he’ll be in his room. It will be fine.” she told herself. As she reached the stairs however he was there, waiting as agreed. She couldn't stop the soft gasp as he turned to meet her eyes.
Gaeril smiled softly, trying to not laugh as the little halfling he’s come to love stops at the top of the stairway, but he was soon awestruck by her beauty as she remained still for another moment. Her dress was golden, beautiful as it caught the light of the waning sun from the windows. He bowed his head gently as she proceeded to move, still looking quite in awe, her eyes locked with his.
“My lady.” he said softly and extended a hand. She couldn’t help but smile widely, laughing her joyful laughter.
“Oh my gosh Gaeril!” she squealed. “You look absolutely beautiful!”
“So do you, you are glowing like the sun!” he replied, chuckling as she kept taking in the details of his clothing.
“Are you ready?” he asked finally.
“Yes! Are you though? You’re not nervous?” Alusys asked, her brows knitting slightly.
“I am. But I will be fine. This is your big night, and I would not miss it for anything.” Gaeril smiled softly, his heart beating a little faster.
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Gaeril.”
“You ready then?”
She took his hand and smiled with a nod before they both walked towards the gates where a carriage awaited them.
