Ava and Simon being foils of each other in that she is ready to sacrifice everything for the greater good while Simon is focused on his own freedom. Yet, both of them hold hope for humanity and the chance that there's something more out there (Ava sees the blood moon as an answer, Simon doubts The Quiet Rapture is real)*

I've seen fanart and a lot of people took Ava and Simon to be like?? Cold-hearted or grumpy. And it gave me the impression that Ava was like- evil??? But she's not, you can tell she holds guilt for treating the convicts the way she does, the way she HAS to. "Get the job done" is probably something she tells herself too.

And like yea of course Simon is gonna be angry and grumpy...he's about to die in the worst way possible 💀😭

But he's also so!!! Sad!! He's not stoic at all 😭 and he has humor!!!

Everyone is so human! They're desperate and angry and scared but they show compassion in the few times they can!

Speaking of fanart, I was shocked to see the teeth growing out of Simon's cheek and the red eye, thought those were just headcanon designs 😳 and yet at the same time still downplayed how fucked up he got at the end like holy hell-

Anyways I also thought it was funny that Mark was first and foremost credited as Markiplier and not Mark Fischbach
