HOT TO GO!

"this season/the finale had no point" nah you just missed all of the points because you're so hyper-focused on your delusions about this show

s3 was about lestat finally dealing with and being able to move past a huge chunk of the trauma and coping mechanisms he's been trying to ignore for most of his life, that's been obvious to all of us who love the show and actually listen to what it's trying to communicate

sorry so many of you are too blinded by your preconceived biased notions to understand any of it

like, lestat—through his own subconscious mind—is told over and over again of his failures yet despite that he still picks himself up again and tries. even though it was under extreme duress and coercion, louis still shows an unfathomable amount of empathy to armand when, objectively speaking, armand has done absolutely nothing to deserve it. and in being shown that empathy, armand is moved enough to (at least mostly albeit not completely) abandon his revenge and entitlement and let louis and regina go.

and then there's the scene with paul and lestat. paul, who died reassured by the notion that louis would continue to live the lie of being a straight man and whose own mother asserts that he's in hell because he committed suicide, is implied to be in heaven and has come to accept and support the love that louis wants for himself. (assuming, of course, that it is the spirit of paul and he isn't just a product of lestat's mind, but that's an assumption i would like to live under.) and lestat, who thinks he's so undeserving of love, being reassured of louis' love for him by the person louis loved the most.

and i think that is really what's at the heart of the books.
