AHHHH can’t believe that @fazgardian and I finally finally got to do photos together!!

When I found out I would be judging at NYCC, this guy was one of the first people I messaged being like “GUESS WHAT” and we immediately began plotting Thor and Loki shenanigans.

Superman

This movie and this character have me feeling some type of way. I’ve always been a Thor stan, but growing up with “edgy / grimdark / god deciding if humans are worth his time” Superman meant he wasn’t really for me. Seeing THIS version (along with Absolute Superman) has me ALL THE WAY IN. Turns out you can hyperfixate about two superheroes at once.

A nice, goofy guy, gifted with amazing powers, just trying to do the right thing. Now THAT I can get behind.

I’ve been LOVING this comic run by Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval. Of course I had to cosplay the absolute man of steel.

Mostly because I find it vastly uninteresting for people with unimaginable power choose evil over good. The world knows what it looks like when powerful people choose to hurt rather than help, we see it everyday. I don’t want anymore stories about an oppressive force putting people down and sadistically enjoying it with little to no successful push back, especially if it’s from the oppressors perspective.

I want stories of people choosing to be good, even when it’s painful and thankless. I want stories where a person has to grapple with the if it’s being good is even worth it, and then chooses to be good not because they have to but because they want to. I want stories of people just trying their best to help and do good, treating power as a responsibility rather than a get out of jail free card to do whatever they want to whoever they want.

Thor: Love and Thunder. I know people are mixed on this movie, but I love it, and I love this cosplay. Its movie design comes from Andy Park, paying Homage to the great Walt Simonson, who wrote and drew one of THE iconic runs of Thor.

After reading Simonson, Jurgens, JMS, Fraction, Aaron, Cates, and now Ewing’s masterful runs of Thor, I really love how much of the wackiness of Thor comics is found in Love and Thunder.

At any rate, this suit was made with a base by simcosplay, and then 3D printed pieces modeled by Johan3Dprintmaster and printed and finished by Reedspropsplus. Helmet files by Yosh studios and printed and finished by Printed Dimension.
