Remember when Valkyrie wasn't made the new Thor, but Taika Waititi promised that Valkyrie would find love in Thor: Love and Thunder, and she spent half of the movie talking to a rock.
And then they cut this?
Yeah, me too.

I missed drawing Thor. 😭

Thor Love and Thunder (2022)
The god of thunder mourns his past relationship and his world but as a new threat arises to all the gods he may have to risk his love for the stability of the universe.
There were several links made to previous films including when the lead put on weight to mourn various elements of his past and was still worthy of the original hammer. It was nice that the cast was consistent and that there were several returning characters and references to previous characters like the son of Heimdall.
It mainly failed to grab the attention properly in the early stages of the movie because it had so many affiliated characters that weren’t going to be even slightly relevant to the main story. There were also a few too many flashbacks described by a narrator that wasn’t tooo reliable so it was never clear exactly what the prior motivation for th characters was.
Although it was very interesting lore to see the safehouse of the gods, it was rather disappointing that we got so little lore about each one, in fact learning next to nothing except that the thunderbolt was important. Admittedly Russel Crowe suited playing a lascivious, callous asshole, though it’s not clear if any acting was involved.
Fun though it was to see a female Thor version, it felt inevitable from the premise that one or the other would die. The finale was also part predictable and part disappointing since it builds up to something other than the main danger. It was fun to see Hemsworth’s ass but it was soo brief that no matter how defined it was, it was still brief and distant. They should hire a holiday calendar director to shoot those shots or just commit to it and have the supporting actors deliver their lines with the ass in the foreground.
5/10 -Can’t find a better example of average-
-When Thor imbues the power of Asgard to the children near the end, the lightning pattern makes the shape of Yggdrasil, the world tree that holds reality together.
-Ranks the shortest gap in the MCU between the first trailer release and the movie release, only 2 months.
-The ship they travel on is named Aegir, named after a Norse sea giant).

Fun fact: Despite having "never gotten around" to watching Thor 4, I was vaguely aware of the screaming goat that appears in the movie.
Funner fact: There's a screaming goat toy that exists, thanks to the movie, like a little miniature that you squeeze and it makes the screaming noise.
Funnerer fact: I watch a lot of "Lawtube" - i.e., lawyers who stream trials and provide legal commentary, bc I'm a nerd, and my favorite Lawtuber, Emily D. Baker, has the aforementioned goat toy and will often squeeze it so it makes the screaming noise when covering things that warrant frustrated screaming (iykyk?).
Funnest fact: Because of hearing it so much on Emily's channel, the screaming goat noise now lives rent-free in my brain, independent of both Thor 4 and Emily, and it has become a conditioned mental response *screaming internally* sound that is activated whenever I am frustrated, annoyed, or otherwise triggered into a rage-response.
I think we call this a full-circle event, in which all roads in my brain lead back to Thor.
This has been a quality post.
I Go Where The Sound Of Thunder Is
Just a MCU-inspired redesign I did of Thor’s outfit from “The Crossing” storyline from 1995.
Hope you like it!
