She was so hungry, but so full at the same time.

Huh. The recipe was different. Or maybe they were too used to grits and water.

After a moment of slow chewing filled with a variety of face expressions, Two Time mumbled,

Two Time took another bite. And then ate the rest in one bite. They were close to reaching for hers before remembering that it wouldn’t exactly be the kindest display in the world. They instead clumsily wiped their mouth with the back of their palm.

Vyx had to be stupid, because she did not know what “deal” Two Time was talking about.

Two Time’s tone wavered, the bite to it suddenly dissipating. They lowered their voice as to not draw attention, their knee bounced up and down unwillingly, and the view out the window seemed much more engaging than the arising quarrel.
