I’m getting mad, so here’s something I’ve realized while reading The Order of the Phoenix again. (Please keep in mind that my books are in Italian and some concepts might be hard to explain, I apologize for my English mistakes)

In chapter 14, when The Trio talked with Sirius, he said that two years before Dolores Umbridge had written a law against werewolves that made it almost impossible for Lupin to find a job.

Now ask yourself this question. Why two years?

What had happened two years before? During Harry’s third year? Oh, right. The Magical World had discovered that one of Hogwarts’ teachers (someone who was in constant conctat with their children) was a werewolf. Does that ring any bell?

But that’s not all! If we take a look at chapter 15, in the Daily Prophet article we can see a familiar name: Remus Lupin. In a newspaper. Where everyone can read it. “The werewolf Remus Lupin”. No wonder he couldn’t find a job! And it’s not the first time the Daily Prophet has written about him, as it’s stated in the article itself. There must have been a huge scandal when it had all come out.

So basically, when Snape decided he couldn’t bear not having what he wanted (for example, SIRIUS BLACK GETTING KISSED BY A DEMENTOR) and spilled the secret, he didn’t only tell the whole school. He didn’t only tell the kids’ parents. The told the whole Magical World.

He told the whole Magical World that a man who had kept his condition secret all his life was a werewolf.

And the Magical World responded with a law against werewolves.

So, basically, Snape didn’t only ruin Remus Lupin’s life. He ruined the life of every single werewolf in the UK.

chief of the southern water tribe: thinks her brother is an idiot but has good ideas sometimes, and appreciates the fact that he doesn’t care whether or not he gets credit for them as long as they’re implemented 

not to mention that toph is basically a one-woman weapon of mass destruction who does not listen to anyone—with the crucial exception of one person—and guess who that is!

and he’s basically an honorary member of the white lotus???

out of the people who do know, I would say it’s split into roughly three categories:

people who are duly aware of just how much influence sokka has in the decisions and advances made in postwar geopolitics: zuko, toph, iroh, suki, azula, ty lee, mai, piandao, arnook, pakku (but he hates it)

people who think sokka is their cool smart friend who helps them out when they cannot solve a certain problem: aang, kuei

And I don't just mean Michelin Man and Extra-Time Hourglass Woman, I mean actually fat characters and the different shapes they come in, with rolls and "unflattering" body shapes and all that.

Because I want characters who look like all the variety we see in real-world Olympic athletes instead of supermodels.

Because I want to see a character who looks like me, really like me and not the idealized version (read: skinny) be strong enough to save the world on days I don't feel strong enough to face the public.

Because in worlds with dragons and magic, or interstellar spaceflight and sexually compatible aliens, I'm tired of being told that the most unrealistic thing is people like me.

Because I want to be able to interact with people and have the solutions to my problems be offered as "Go collect these items for me, I'll make you a new weapon!" Instead of "Go lose some weight, fatass."

Because in a game, I don't have to worry about my love interest only pretending to like me, as a distraction tactic, as a joke, as a dare, as a fetish.

Because I'm tired of only seeing people who look like me existing as a joke.
