Mally!! Rather than using the Twiggets, I wanted to populate the Rebellion with characters who felt like refugees from across Etheria who came to the Rebellion to fight. Mally is kind of the foreperson of those Rebels. As the armourer, she becomes the heart and core of the Rebellion, protecting them and giving them tools to fight with.

Me: -before rewatching Season 5- You know, I'm liking so many of the characters much better this time around. Catra, Swift Wind, even Seahawk isn't as annoying even if I still hate the singing. Maybe

Me: -after watching the first 4 episodes- Nope. That really WAS just as bad as I remembered. Every princess who isn't Entrapta deserves to be eaten by weasels.

I mean, seriously. Would it have KILLED them to have the "Entrapta is the only one here who actually has a fucking clue what we need to do" epiphany BEFORE they totally humiliated her? Before Scorpia went back on all her character growth by siding with her shiny new fellow princesses over the person she said last season was her only REAL friend? Maybe "let Entrapta decide where we're going, the rest of us focus on protecting her" should've been PLAN FUCKING A?!

And of course the creators are continuing to lean into the "Entrapta doesn't care about anyone, she doesn't even remember Glimmer's name" bullshit.

And of course when they're on the ship, Bow of all people takes over the "Entrapta, do this! Entrapta, stop that!" duties. Ugh.
