My favorite Lois Lane. Erica Durance is my favorite Lois Lane.
Tom Welling says: She's perfect!!

Why the woody/stoic acting after Kristin's last episode then, Tom?🤔
Every time I watch Smallville I am swept away by Clark and Lois' love story.... from the moment Lois steps on the scene in S4. I yearn for them to realize they love each other. Every time I see them together I long for that time to come. But I also enjoy the slowburn of it all. I think it's what makes it so gratifying because we had to wait so long that it feels earned.
I also think that the way they paced Clark and Lois was so satisfying. You have Clark and Lana which is about as bad as you can get. It follows the idea that you need to get a couple together, break them up, get them back together, break them up. In fact, in rewatching Smallville I noticed a pattern in S3, I believe. It's like Clark and Lana will have this break through at the beginning or mid point of an episode where they will kiss or say they love each other or they were wrong to break up or whatever the case may be and then at the end of the episode one of them will have a nauseating conversation about how they aren't right for each other. And then that person will walk away dramatically crying or clearly emotional. And it became so annoying because this happened all the damn time. Sure, Clark and Lois had their share of ups and downs and even some minor breakups but I think I'm less annoyed by Clark and Lois for a couple of reasons for (1) It happens far less partly because they took their time and built this relationship slowly so by the time they were together there wasn't as much time to do all that shit. But also you look at their relationship in any given season and their relationship just lasts longer. When Clana are together for the first time, their relationship lasts like 3 episodes. You compare that to Clois and their first relationship lasted almost an entire season. (2) If you're gonna do that shit then the chemistry needs to support it. Clois has electric chemistry and Clana does not so that's another reason I'm less annoyed because the chemistry is worth the ups and downs. You can tell that Tom Welling was so much more dedicated to Clois and that is proven by his words time and time again. Tom was constantly making comments about how Clana should just be friends and keep it simple and also making comments about how Clois is meant to be and perfect for each other. I think that Tom liked working with Kristin but I also know that he absolutely adored working with Erica and has made so many comments about how he respects her and loves working with her. Erica also brought out the best out of Tom. Tom was never a better actor than when he was working with Erica.
But getting back to the pacing of Clois, it is simply unmatched. There didn't seem to be a yo-yo effect where the writers didn't know what they wanted to do, or were catering to what they felt they needed to do. It wasn't like, ok, it's the end of the season so we need to get Clois together in case we are cancelled. That was the vibe I got from Clana that they were kinda flying by the seat of their pants and making decisions from an episode to episode basis. Clois on the other hand went at a perfect pace and slowly but surely built to love.
S4 - Strangers ➡️ Enemies ➡️ Secret Friends
S5-S7 - Secret Friends ➡️ Best Friends
S8 - Best Friends / Coworkers ➡️ Full on Attraction begins / Pining and Yearning begins
S9 - Dating / Lovers
S10 - Soulmates / Becoming Engaged
And everything goes at a even pace and there's no going back. There's no falling out of love even when they breakup near the end of S9. There's still a love and trust there. Lois trusts Clark even though she finds out that he's been lying to her and hasn't told her his secret (by the way I love how she doesn't trick him into telling her the truth or force him to tell her. She lets him take his time and trusts that he has a reason for not telling her and that he eventually will tell her) and he has a trust in her that leads him to tell her the truth near the beginning of S10.
I’m still not over Smallville Lois and Clark by the way. Never will be. One of the most satisfying slow burns in TV history.
Was it satisfying though? Am I the only one who doesn’t think that? Of course I’m happy that we got the bare minimum but thinking what we could have gotte if writers wouldn’t have wasted so much time to Lana and making her like the pivotal thing of Clark’s life ~and Lois a second choice~ 😶

"The moment Lois appears is the beginning"
Tom Welling when talking about Clark having feelings for Lois.
Tough watch😮💨
I’m on season 5 of Smallville and still see no chemistry between Clark and Lana. Clark literally has chemistry with everyone like Chloe, Lex, Lois, Kyla except Lana for me😀

If this is real…. Oh boy I don’t understand how anyone who watched it as it aired were able to pull it through. I’m binging it and I’m banging my head to the wall💀

SV writers are so DUMB because the absolute eatery this trio could serve as either a love triangle or a throuple would be INSANE
erica durance and tom welling as lois lane and clark kent in smallville’s “pandora” episode (2009)
