I've been rewatching 7x04 of The Mentalist and honestly I don't like how unforgiving Cho is of Vega. It's not that I'm disagreeing with what he's saying. He's not wrong... trust is important in a relationship like that and Vega did make a mistake. What bothers me is that Cho is not one to talk. I seem to recall a time where he was addicted to medications and ended up falling asleep in a car while on a stakeout and almost left Rigsby high and dry to deal with a shootout alone. Cho felt extremely bad about that and begged for forgiveness and Rigsby gave that forgiveness so readily even though he nearly died. I just think that Vega was so new and green and deserved quicker forgiveness on that. Cho of all people should understand that need. And i'm not saying that Cho's reaction is out of character. That's a term that's thrown around too much. People make mistakes, sometimes people are consistent, sometimes people can be hypocritical. And arguably it gives more layers to a character that can be a bit unemotional and one note at times. Also I understand they wanted those two characters at odds so that they had somewhere to progress so that Vega's ending had more of an emotional punch. I'm just saying that watching Cho being so unforgiving is a little annoying like come on dude! I know your past.
