Another reason I’m adding to my list of why I like going to the movies alone: because sometimes you’ll be meeting someone at the Alamo (which I hate but it was the only option) and the person is late and you’re not sure if they’re gonna get in on time because the Alamo stops seating at a certain time after the movie starts. WHY IS THIS SO STRESSFUL
My friend made it on time! And we saw Maddie’s Secret which was great. And as a side note, the last two times I’ve gone to the Alamo no one has ever even looked at my ticket. Is it just the honor system there or what? Pick a very empty showing and just waltz in, I guess?

I just got to a part in Against the Day where two guys are given fezes (fezzes?) for disguise and one of them is way too small for one guy and the other is way too big for the other guy, so they switch fezzes but somehow this doesn’t solve the problem. And then a third character tells them some lore that anyone who is not a true Muslim will be rejected by their own fez, and says “You can’t fool the fez. The fez knows all.”

I grew up in a rural area so we weren’t hooked up to the town water supply and instead had our own well, which is what most people do where I live. My mom just revealed to me that the way they put their well in was that they first got a old guy with a wooden dowsing rod to come out and walk around the property and tell them where to drill for water.
