even with stuff like hazbin hotel or south park or slop shonen that i think is terrible i can at least understand what it is about these properties that people latch onto and where the appeal comes from but with hetalia im like. based on literally zero direct interaction with the source material ever i still feel confident enough to say i do not believe there is a single thing on offer in hetalia in terms of like artistry or interesting ideas or narrative and character writing that could be unique or compelling enough to explain its continued popularity. i just categorically can not believe it.
