𝕯avid pulls back at Michael’s flinch, even for just a second he saw the boy’s nerves before he could stop himself…Like the brush was a weapon that could hurt him in of itself as opposed to a brush painting on his own liberation and metamorphosis.
“The more you wince the longer it takes, Michael.”
He teased the brunette, sticking his tongue out just a bit in a way of trying to get him to ease up on all his pressure.
It was adorable when he looked nervous to the vampire but oh, did it ruin his little…creative process afoot.
In this moment the feelings David held for the boy became literal in a kind of sense rarely made this explicit between them…Michael now a blank canvas of discovery and desire under his touch for the blonde to encourage and help-ultimately this wasn’t about what the blonde wanted for him however, it was about what Michael needed and how David knew to give it to him.
“Stage fright is a real thing that plagues the nervous minds like ours…Happens to the best of us. Didn’t always used to be so assured in myself…In who I am. It takes time to find yourself in a world telling you who you have to be, not who you are.”
In some ways, David was a loud guy when he wanted to be…Hollering his way off bridges, roaring over a crowd…
In others he took to the more quiet aspects of life-lived long enough to become bored with it, the mundane and conventional things expected of humanity. Liked to rock the boat whenever he could just to see what the world would do in return…Life had a more exciting ring to it when he did dontcha think?
“Adagio from Piano Concerto No. 23’s a personal favorite of mine.” He says almost earnestly in spite of Michael’s tease, like a secret between two lovers never to be shared outside these walls.
"Sorry." Michael would say with a shy little twitch of his lips, closing his eyes so David could apply the makeup to his untouched eyelid.
He stayed very still, desperately hoping that the red in his cheeks had disappeared as the vampire leaned closer.
David being so close was making his heart race. David being so open made him feel vulnerable for some reason.
It was strange, but it felt… safe.
“Wow, look at you, being all educational…” he would chuckle slightly. Cracking his free eye open as best as he could when David names a record. Genuinely surprised.
“Oh… really?” Michael would say. Subtly shifting forward more. “Uh— what does it sound like? Is it good?”
