Nearby there was a taller figure probably around 6ft tall, some could almost describe him as lanky by his frame, standing on the beach observing the ocean, almost looking like he was thinking about something. He sported black sneakers, charcoal nursing scrubs and had salt and peppered short curled hair, a little bit of facial hair and had two visible tattoos on his arms and a right side nose piercing and left ear piercing with a "j" earring in it. He looked over when he noticed the other close by, noticing the blood with it. "Hey woah, you alright there?" He asked

Victoria looked up at the guy with a sort of curiosity but judgment in her eyes. She then looked back down at the glass and continued her work.

“Im fine buster.. go bug someone else ain’t got time for surfer nonsense.”

She hadn’t meant to be rude to the boy usually she would’ve flirted or maybe even taken him for a bite but in all honesty she was too down on her self to care at the moment just wanting to be alone or have the sun rise already.

He nodded but had a sort of curious but concerned look in his eyes, he didn't mind the comment she made, hell he's heard a hell of a lot worse at his job so he didn't take it personally. "You look like you have a lot on your mind there, just wanted to check on ya. I can understand what that's like. Didn't mean to intrude miss" he turned his head and then looked back "it would.. make me feel a little better if you handed over that glass though.." He offered, not in a forceful tone but a more kind and gentle tone, his face softened

She looked at him confused and laughed a bit just slightly where almost the wind could’ve questioned its reality.

“Why do you care.. we just met and… it’s not like my life would matter one way or another to ya babe..”

She dropped the glass into the sand letting the blood in her fist dry and the wound go to seal up. As she went to get up she buried the old blood that layed in the sand up with her shoe.

“There… good as new.. happy? Cuz if not i.. could really care less” she smiled sarcastically and grabbed her jacket from the sand, dusting it off, putting it back on and moving to walk away back to the cave or maybe even under the boardwalk if the sun came to early.

He kinda tilted his head like a puppy at the remark "I take care of strangers all the time.. just because I just met you doesn't mean I don't have a little empathy for your struggles. I care because I believe it's important,that people deserve a chance,can't save everything but...I can at least listen even if you've made up your mind" he moved back to give her room as she got up off the sand she didn't really see how tall he was until she fully got up, he had that same gentle look, there was not a single rough line or expression traced in his features. "You got a name stranger?"

She looked at him with a bit of sympathy. An almost sad look in her eyes.

“I.. what are you some kinda nurse or somethin… i dont tell strangers my name.. ever.. so uh.. guess you’re gonna have to tell me yours first..”

She smirked just slightly where most people wouldn’t have seen it. Then while looking him up and down she laughed softly

“cute look..what are ya.. a poser or just some guy who likes fuckin around with girls in the night asking their worries like its some kinda job.”

She let her smile fall “go home kid…. It’s late and…You sure ain’t gotta listen to this sap…. Let alone her tears.” She took a cig out and lit it letting the smoke fill her dead lungs.

"Actually I am a nurse. I work night shifts and just got off early, wanted to enjoy the ocean a little bit before I went back to my apartment to catch some zzz's. These are my work clothes, usually I'm more punk in my attire." He put his hands in his pockets of his scrubs.

"Since you don't supposedly care, the name is Jesse."

He raised a brow "kid huh? How old do you think I am?" He smiled with a little bit of a soft laugh

"But..if you don't want me in your hair, I'll walk away. Like I was never here" His own smile faltered, he looked almost sad. He knew he couldn't save everyone but at least he tried but knew he couldn't push anything no matter how much he wanted to help.

I smiled at him, my worries somehow fading just a bit.

“Ahh a nurse… good on you i suppose…..” she then laughed

“trust me you’re not half as old as I am… kid fits just fine for you… i’m older than I look sweetheart…You can stay.. i don’t mind it, you seem.. interesting somehow, i don’t want you to leave just yet.”

She teased, smirking now looking him up and down again

“My name’s Victoria… and if you gotta know im just in the dumps today i suppose… haven’t felt alive in a while is all…”

She took a drag of her cigarette letting the smoke billow out of her mouth into the cold night air.

He nodded "Rock on". He made the devil horns hand gesture and smiled once more, he found her oddly charming, odd but charming.

"Well it's very nice to meet you Victoria, regarding my job, it can be amazing, it can also be heartbreaking but.. I totally understand. Everyone has their days."

He laughed amused that she thought he was so young that she'd be older than him.

"you're really funny though. You'd be surprised at how old I actually am, but I'm flattered." He rubbed the back of his head with one hand, before reaching into his pocket.

“does the devil wear Prada Jesse? Cause if not then we have a big issue huh..” she teased handing him the gold lighter in her pocket it was engraved with a black heart adorned with fangs.

As the wind picked up it tossed her curls with it, creating a halo effect above of her face.

“So how old are ya Jesse? Bet i got ya beat by a few…” she smiled her brown eyes shining in the moonlight for the first time in forever.

He laughed and nodded "Thanks Victoria, wow this.. is very cool" He admired the lighter for a moment to look at the details before lighting his joint and taking a drag.

As he blew the smoke out of his mouth away from her, he asked "well, how old do you think I am? Bet you can't guess" he playfully smirked, his own hazel, maybe blue eyes, she couldn't quite exactly tell, shined in the moonlight as well.

She looked him over once more “hmm… 30.. maybe 40 at least..”

She teased laughing a bit at her guess “even so nothing close to my own age…”

Her face was flushed with how much she’d laughed so far and from how cold the beach air had been to her. It been a while since she actually color to her face.

"god, I haven't been to the beach in forever, Im usually either to busy with work or rehearsing"

Some new information for Victoria, Jesse wasn't just a considerate nurse, but also apparently a musician.

"Decided to come out here tonight, clear my head, smell the sea breeze before I sleep. It was.. one of those nights for me.." He looked towards the moon and sighed.

"the drums, well I'm the drummer of my band and back vocals as well. We played a show last weekend. It's not quite punk rock like most music that's played here, more alternative rock than anything really. We're definitely planning to do more shows. Nobody really pays attention to the drummer of the band. They're usually tucked away in the back"

He let the joint smoke linger in his mouth after the next drag, eventually letting the smoke slowly travel between his lips

"I'm relatively new to this area, used to live in LA, then San Francisco before finding my way here. It's unique."

I watched carefully as the sun began to turn up her face flushed from talking to the guy and actually wanting the night to last longer. “i uh… gotta go but it’s been nice having you around… you really helped me out and it was nice having someone other than family to talk to…” she kissed his cheek softly

“maybe we’ll see each other around sometime again…. Maybe while you’re playing those hot drums of yours…” she walked off toward the cave

“and the lighter… keep it no use for the stupid thing anymore… see ya around jesse..” she ran off just before the sun peaked on the horizon
