like, here's mackie's skin tone in bnw, sam's most recent film appearance and taken from a well-lit exterior shot (not that mackie's skin tone has changed over the years anyway):

and hell, sam's first appearance in the comics, digitally recoloured to match the colouring they had at the time of printing - which is to say, not great but still very much telling you what his skin tone is in the range of (and considering where he is consistently coloured as now, it's indicating what he is supposed to look like):

notice how NONE of these examples match with that first colour? the light on his forehead in the second modern comics drawing, sure maybe, but that's also literally the lighting, not his skin tone. sam is a darkskinned Black man, period, the end.

can we please stop with the whitewashing? can we take the time to learn how to colour and draw darkskinned people? the link below is honestly required reading and full of great resources, but it's also just a start. educate yourselves. it's ridiculous atp.

please help us if you can. we can barely stay afloat, as what money we do get from paychecks goes fully into our monthly car payment, gas for our car, and other bills. we are both in credit debt as well.
