Well, I think Speedwagon didn’t get any blood offspring because he was in love with Jonathan (being as most of my posts reflect a queer reading of Speedwagon’s love for Jonathan instead of a platonic one) and thus chose to protect Jonathan’s offspring and descendants instead of getting married and starting his own family. Handsome he may be, and I’m sure there’s always been offers plus the fact that Joseph canonically thinks that there might have been something between Speedwagon and Erina, the fact that Araki chose to specifically note that Speedwagon died alone makes me sad because there was always a chance Speedwagon could have had kids but chose not to. A big difference, tbh. If he didn’t want kids, he still coulda had a girlfriend, but Araki never wrote any blatantly emotional or compact bonds for Speedwagon except for the one with Jonathan, and I think it begs to be read as queerly (and tragically) as possible because Speedwagon, again, was an amazing character who could have had loads of kids… but didn’t. He literally devoted his life to people he had no business being close to, but he did, and he did so honestly. For me, that’s his ultimate act of love for Jonathan, albeit Jonathan being so very dead.
