I find the Spuffy vs. Bangel discourse especially weird because it’s not actually a factor in the canon of the show. Like, Buffy dates these two men separately at different times in her life. It’s not a love triangle. By the time she’s with Spike, Angel has had his own show for like three seasons and is also dating other people. So it’s so weird to me that people are still arguing (over twenty years later!) who Buffy should have chosen, when it was never actually presented as a choice. She had several romantic relationships in her life, and unless you count whatever was going on between her and Faith (which to be fair, I do) none of these relationships ever overlapped. There is literally nothing to argue about.
