That’s why he’s so slow in doing it, and so sensual. A part of Solkar can’t believe this is happening, despite it being a perfectly logical thing to expect from a human, and the rest of him can’t believe how good it is.

I bet that if the camera zoomed in any further we would see the dilation of Solkar’s pupils and a quickly-repressed shiver of delight. Cochrane’s firm, businesslike clasp is probably (in sexual terms) being perceived as a deliciously carnal display of dominance.

odd to conflate all of these attributes into two categories and say they're mutually exclusive. i get that it's pointing towards fuzzy cultural concepts but surely if we want to analyze the concepts we tease apart the strands? if we want to critique the aestheticism we should be interested at getting at the reality behind the aestheticism rather than taking it for granted. like the whole point of 'conflict resolution circles' is because people experience conflict! IMO this is full of shallow conceptualizations that the OP gestures at critiquing but ends up taking for granted. are you saying you want to get past the aestheticism or are you saying you prefer aesthetic 2 to aesthetic 1? those are different. You think no one who fits many of the attributes in group 2 has ever participated in group 1 activities? and what's this about 'after the revolution'? where did that come from? whos saying what here? who told you they think like that? there are like five or six different grievances here.
