The best way to protect yourself is to be as fluid and formless as water; never bet on stability or lasting order. Everything changes.
i scare people lots because i walk very softly and they don’t hear me enter rooms so when they turn around i’m just kind of there and their fear fuels me
Racism is not the only thing black people face in their lifetime. There is also a thing called colorism. It’s not just that they are discriminated because of their race, this is deeper.
A young African American Stanford Grad Student Chika Okoro delivered an amazing speech on how colorism affects lives of black people with a darker skin tone. And you should not miss that.

Men are using a powerful hashtag to fight back against emotional abuse
According to NCADV, 4 in 10 people have experienced some kind of coercive control from an intimate partner. Sadly, #MaybeSheDoesntHitYou is raising much-needed awareness for a widespread problem.
All right pals. I know people are going to roll their eyes at this and see it as an MRA thing, but this really isn’t about undermining abuse suffered by women. It’s about acknowledging that men can be abused, because people of all genders are capable of being abusive and some men have abusive partners. It’s about emotional abuse, which is notoriously hard to speak up about, affecting men, a group who are notoriously loath to speak up about being in an abusive relationship. So this is #important honestly. Emotional abuse is serious and real and can happen to anyone. It can be perpetuated by people of ALL genders, regardless of wider social dynamics, and absolutely no one deserves to go through it. I’d have preferred the hashtag not to be about straight relationships and to acknowledge that abuse can be perpetuated by people of all genders, but nonetheless, this is really important.
abuse is abuse regardless of gender identity
It's human nature to be a chismosa

Black mom nails the problem with dads posing in prom photos with guns
Ivery Justivery is sick of seeing these photos, so she took to Facebook to say why she’s over it. It’s traumatizing and reinforces the objectification of women. A lot of people on Facebook agreed, but after some said she was taking the “joke” too seriously, Ivery edited her post with another sharp point.
He’s so in love

the levels to the idiocy
ok who is Michelle Rodriguez though
she made a video explaining it because she felt like the words were twisted.
she meant that she wanted hollywood to stop being lazy and just develop mythology for superheroes of color where their cultures would be embedded into their story. like, rather than just take peter parkers story and put a poc in there, she just wants people to develop their own mythology where they put a cultural story behind that if their heritage isn’t rooted to america
it’s on her facebook. cant link it, my mouse is broken
video
This isn’t stupid at all. This is so important
We need more heroes like Static Shock, where their culture is a part of the suit.
The fact that they twisted her words so much like that holyshit—
you surprised, though?
what a surprise they had to twist her words so they could ignore the point she made
