But do we know what happens next? We do not. Our history teachers move on. We treat it like it is another genocide in modern times. So this is the aftermath: After the genocide ends, 2 million Hutus seek refuge in Democratic Republic of Congo. Hutus who are extremists mobilize. Rwanda, who is led by a Tutsi majority government, does the same and goes into war in 1996 to 1997 and in 1998 to 2003. Over 3 million people have died. Even when the wars have ended, armed groups like the M23 rebels, who are ethnic Tutsis, receive support from Rwanda and inflict displacement, famine and violence against the Congolese! ! !

This is why we need to talk about DR Congo! Boycott tech companies and Rwanda, donate to fundraisers and grassroots organizations and protest in the streets! Please consider helping out a student from DR Congo! His name is Barnabé and he has kidney failure! He is in dire need for a transplant! €3,733 out of €4,000 has been raised. There is €267 left to go! I have given €10, but you're more than welcome to contribute any amount!
