Once again, me properly drawing out the scars of the boys but it’s on the other is crazy. I just really love this silly au, and a lot of you liked them too! Also I am a firm believer in every life, Simon has his harness. To comprise I gave Ryland a leg/hip harness. Ive honestly done a lot of thinking on how this au would work, so I’ll probably post more of them in the future. I started to research blood disorders, I am not letting that time go wasted /silly

Ryland Grace had truly thought he would die alone on this mission. Hell, when he first woke up he didn't know who he was, where he was, or why he was even space. Thankfully, ever so slowly he got his memories back and managed to wrap his head around what was going. Though, that hadn't cured the loneliness of it all. The two other people he had been shipped off on this suicide mission with had died due to the drug induced coma. Finding their bodies hadn't been easy, giving them their funerals, and airlocking their bodies hadn't been easier.

Four years he spent alone. Eight if you counted the time he spent in that stupid coma. Which hell, he could barely remember the four years he was alone. For the most part he was drunk. It was the only way he could cope with everything that had taken place. Which hadn't ended well like any substance abuse, but thankfully for him.. Life showed him mercy and he met Rocky. His beautiful, amazing mate slash boyfriend Rocky.

Rocky was not human. Nope! The man looked humanoid, but he was an Eridian. An alien species that was having the same problem that Earth was! So, the two agter managing to find a solid way to communicate began working together to solve the Astrophage issues on both of their planets.They were still working on these issues, but Grace had a gut feeling they were getting closer to the the solution. As they worked tiredly through this they ended up finding, well a submarine in space. Yes, no. He knows how INSANE that sounds, but its true! Inside that submarine? A man. A real living, breathing man. This man's name is Simon and Simon came from a universe that didn't have planets and stars. It didn't have clean water or plants either.

Simon also had mutations from what he went through. This extra mouth on the left side of his face that connects to his human mouth. He also has gills on his neck and a singular web eared where the mutated mouth is. It's quite odd, but Simon is far more than just his mutations! He is an amazing man and has become a good friend. "I think it's been a year, maybe more since we found him.." Grace trailed off.

I kept seeing ppl draw them in the other’s place and I just had to join. But imo, I 100% believe Ryland from the Iron Lung universe would be the clingiest most touch-starved version out of any of them. I don’t see him being able to reach the levels of anger Simon does, so he’s just a pathetic, wet dog. And I love that for him.

So naturally I drew him as the sap he is. God I love these two sm dude. They make me sick.

"The hat is customizable," he said, struggling with the velcro patch on the front. "If I need it, I have an ICE one too. I pick based off the business i walk into."

"Customizable is an important hat descriptor," I said. "what can I get you?"

"You wouldn't believe how offended people get these days," he said. "And I'm supposed to do something about it if you're offended? You chose to be offended!"

"We all have hundreds of thousands of decisions everyday," I said. I thickened my accent. "That's what my stepdad always said. But I can make one easier - we have a delicious Ethiopian roast available."

"Like if I told you you have a bull ring," he said, "because bulls have rings in their noses. Is that offensive?"

I laughed. "I've heard that before."

"It's a joke, but people get offended. Maybe you're offended."

I looked at him. I smiled. "You aren't trying to offend me though, right?"

Of course he was. I was being friendly and the friendlier I was, the faster he switched topics. He was saying anything inflammatory he could think of to see if I'd take the bait. After about 20 minutes of my redirecting and deescalating, he settled into a more normal interaction. He took up too much of my time showing me a product I'd feigned mild interest in to get him to stop talking about getting accused of inappropriate behavior at work. When we finally disengaged, he spent 10 minutes trying to catch my eye again. When he failed, he left.

There's this new breed of customer who insists on trying to incite political conversation through their clothing and, when that doesnt work, their snide little comments. If I owned my own business, maybe I would have given the guy the fight he wanted. But I work for a corporation and I love paying my bills so I deescalated.
