I suspect a majority of these cases are people who, in good faith, wanted to offer their work paid after being asked many times if they world. They very likely were unprepared for the actual commitment of becoming what is, essentially, a business owner. I hope the smallest amount of these instances are people seeing a payout and thinking "oh wow money, cool" and acting as if that came free. It did not.

Before now, I had been asked for years and years if I would ever open commissions. I did want to! Again, it was such a dream. It was a great dream to have support like that from my artwork. It was even more exciting that others were so interested, and for those years and years, I researched and looked at myself. I realized I wasn't ready.

I took that leap to really commit I believe two years ago. Beginning small. So small. This was after nearly 8 or 9 years of always looking at myself and going, "am I ready?"

Eventually, I was. So here I am. I love it, and I am still growing. I would not be here without the people who chose to support me. Which is the same for any business or artist.
