Losing it, too.

A year and a half ago I closed my old account. I did it openly without any guise. It was because my kid was in the midst of the prosecution of the man who sexually accosted her. Anything about even normal teenage behavior could have been twisted and turned and often is against victims of these crimes. I refused to let that happen. It was not for some stupid nefarious reason. Life is more important than Twitter or my explaining any of it. However... Absolute insanity has ensued. No matter how I've ignored it, amused it, or addressed it, it only grew worse and more convoluted due to plain ridiculous behavior. As long as it was harmless, whatever. Now it's stepped into the not harmless and I'm not quite sure even what tipped the scale over. I'm not one to play around with these underhanded games and indirect communication especially when it comes to you stepping into my life or intimated stepping into my loved ones lives And for the record... That tweet and a few others? From my old account mostly. In fact, right after this happened at a now defunct site, I began the tumor tweets and sending my MRI . So it's an old tweet. Years old. Years. Years. People want freedom to talk about whatever shit they want from their own sex or preferred drink or belief system or feelings without having to explain, yet they demand others conform instead of simply not following. They claim freedom, protection and yet intimidate and threaten harm to six people who have absolutely nothing to do with their anger. They go through personal and financial trouble, then peck to death those with the same things as soon as they have opportunity or desire. I am guilty of the same, following when I should have unfollowed even if I wasn't sure wtf was in the cross hairs but I didn't hunt anyone in their life and show up.

We need to remember things like the WWI and the slaughter of Armenian Christians, the genocide of WWII and the Jews, Korea, Vietnam, Isreal, and Palestine and all that came long before them. The propensity we have for harming, degrading and dehumanizing each other is within us. We like to think of ourselves as enlightened and above all this but really, we’re just less hairy vertically positioned mammals with a primitive brain and an upgrade laid on top. The more times I remember that image, the more often I bring myself back to the humility of my place in this vast world of people who are equally as important as myself. Be kind, rewind.
