Mitosis occurs when if slime has access to ample nutrients (typically nonsapient flora but omnivorous slimes have been observed) and shelter. Upon consuming enough food, the excess mass will separate from the main body and gain a unique sentience. For the next few months, this mass we'll have mental capabilities just above cattle but will eventually gain full sapience. Slimes formed this way will bear major semblance to their prime slime.

Bigeneration occurs if a slime is attacked in a way that It cannot regain the biomass, though this method does not guarantee offspring. Slimes produced this way will bear less semblance, usually forming smaller than the prime. The body part they bigenerated from will typically be disproportionate to the body. These missized body parts are considered "weakpoints" as they take the place of the slime core (the part which slimes form from).

Intercourse occurs when groups of slimes (called sloshes) return to their hatching grounds. For 3 weeks during the Warm Season, the slimes will breed (slimes are not typically monogamous so these can be seen as little more than slime orgies) endlessly, laying hundreds of spherical eggs. Slimes will typically decide breeder and breedee by way of fighting. The eggs hatch during early fall and the newborn slimes will also seek out cold, dank, subterranian rooms. Since they don't have the experience of older slimes, they may end up in a cellar or castle, leading to slime attacks. These slimes are weaker and can be washed away with water.

Slimes do not typically mate with other species but will if there is no other option. Slimes cannot bear non-slime children but can deposit eggs in other species if the anatomy is capable of ovipostion.
