I think we can all agree that the violation of the demon's rights is the chief concern here, but okay let's hear what its alleged crimes were.

So I took the list of crimes for which this demon was ostensibly imprisoned -- without formal trial, I might add -- and did the math and even if it committed every single one on the list the sentence would have been three hundred years, max. It's been six hundred years.

Well if they're going to butt into it then can the Council of Wizards please explain to me what the conditions of this "eternal" prison are, precisely?

Our prison system is abysmal (I have to encounter one that isn't) but even here, prisoners have rights. How is this demon getting access to sunlight, clean food and water, regular exercise, social enrichment, the opportunity to take remote classes, and so forth?

I am aware that outdated language on certain charters referred exclusively to "human" prisoners. That might provide a legal loophole for the Council of Wizards and League of Heroes to defend themselves if the demon decides to press charges against them later on, but that's not my concern.

Oh so the League of "Heroes" are going to stop us? Color me surprised. 🙄

Some of us haven't forgotten the ongoing discrimination lawsuits against that particular organization, or the multitude of allegations of other sorts of misconduct.

Given that the Forlorn Hills are notoriously dangerous to traverse in most seasons, and the severity of the situation obviously calls for no further delay in liberating this prisoner, we will not be waiting for approval from either of the organizations culpable in this situation before proceeding. As if that would have been reasonable to begin with!

But since there's no reason not to let them think that they've got us stymied, I have arranged for a colleague of mine to act as my representative via correspondence, and respond lengthily to any and all stalling tactics. Hopefully that will stall their own countermeasures long enough for me to destroy their wholly unethical imprisonment array.

Nothing like a brisk walk in turbulent weather to go with unleashing hell, eh?
