Kayla and I had been meaning to shoot this outfit for a while! Glad we finally did! We found another waterfall. Photos at this point are just an excuse to go swimming.

Proud of this city and proud of all those who participated in #TheLongestWalkRNC and all others who shared their opinions for the world to see. In America we can have a conversation and we shouldn't be afraid of being shot or killed for our beliefs. Yes, the police presents was overwhelming and scary. Yes, seeing people who weren't police with guns was intense and unsettling after all this country has been through, but our voices were still heard tonight and this week. Whatever your opinion, let's try to see the best in the world as well as criticize what is broken. Do not forget to hold on to those best moments, because being broken means nothing without them.

@hunterprunty and I were extremely lucky to get invited to Detroit to film Dominick Farinacci at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe this past weekend! We were able to do a lot of videos in a short amount of time and I can’t wait to share them all with everyone. The first one is actually already up and you can find it here.

So happy with how these photos of Brittany came out! Hunter and I were in Detroit for a video job and I really wanted to work with someone in the area so I hopped on Instagram and attempted to find some local models. I came across Brittany and saw that she had videos up of her playing guitar and we had some nice rented video gear out so why not use it not only for pictures but for a quick live performance video.

Tiny Moving Parts killed it at Mahall’s the other night. It’s great to see them getting more and more success as a band. The first time I saw them was in 2013 when they were on tour with The Front Bottoms. The show was in Indianapolis at the Hooiser Dome and if you’re familiar with the venue its a pretty small place. So seeing The Front Bottoms a few months ago sell out the Agora, a 3,000 cap room and having Tiny Moving Parts fill up the upstairs at Mahall’s with more people than could fit in the Hoosier Dome is pretty awesome to see. They are both great bands and deserve all the success. It was great to get to snap some photos and sing along to some of my favorite songs. Life is good. I was lucky enough to go along with Daniel Lozada on his shoot with Kate this past weekend! Daniel had some great ideas and you should for sure check out his set when he releases it! 

Being able to assist on a shoot is always a great opportunity. I’ve always liked helping others try to get their best work. Having an assistant can be huge because the photographer can just focus on taking the best photos and his or her creative process. Instead of worrying about making sure they picked up all the gear when moving from location to location. Having someone there to bounce light can also make a huge difference in your photos especially if the sun is bright behind someone. Also Kate was super nice to Arbela (who also came along) and myself! She is great to work with!
