Ooh, power descriptions are so cool, but now Iāve got questions about Grianāsā could he in theory (or even does he in practice) use that to figure out if other people are out of costume villains/vigilantes/heroes etc? Like, Grian giving people high fives or something as a ācasual gestureā while he attempts to copy their power to see if they have one/what it is?
He could, and that is something Iāve considered as a possibility! It especially becomes an issue w/ Jimmy bcuz theyāre rlly close friends (potentially family? Considering making Seablings and skyblings cousins).
However, some powers are very common, and Jimmyās is one of those! Invisibility isnāt rare, so heās never suspected. Besides, Bangshee (Jimmyās villain alias) is able to phase through walls and hover and stuff, which Grian isnāt able to do when he tries Jimmyās abilities, so he crossed him off the list. (Reason for that is it actually took Jimmy several years to figure out and master those abilities, and Grian only gets to keep the power 5-10 minutes, not enough time to learn abt the power himself.)
Itās a big city so he doesnāt typically meet all these people daily. He knows Lizzie but not enough for him to use his abilities on her yet (she and Jim are half siblings and the parent relating Jimmy and Skyblings is not her parent. She didnāt really meet them until she was older).

Essentially; he could, he doesnāt always. A lot of people consider it āimmoralā to use their powers against civilians, and he kinda has to keep a front for the Agency.
