void archives’s chief function is to pursue information about the honkai and its power as a divine key is that it’s able to mimic the functions of other divine keys. It’s kind of like an infinite metaphysical library. It also has a deeply ingrained prime directive to destroy the honkai completely at all costs, so its own free will is limited in that way.

Void archives was acquired in the past by Otto Apocalypse and used for its knowledge and power. After Otto’s death, the cube seizes one of his spare soulium clones so it can finally have a body of its own and do its own thing

Now void archives also fucking hates Otto apocalypse because it had to live in his head for several hundred years. Unfortunately it also kind of absorbed a lot of personality and mannerisms from him in this time, so not only does it look like Otto, it also talks and acts quite a bit like him.

its relationship with welt comes in when it invites an alien race to invade and destroy earth. Even though Kiana has subdued the honkai by this point, Void Archives still has that inborn mission of “destroy the honkai completely” so it still kind of pursues the nuclear option.

during this time it meets welt yang and his son joffrey, and holds joffrey kind of hostage to enlist welt’s help in then bringing down the alien race that’s invading. In the end, they both end up far away from earth on an alien spacecraft, where welt sees that these aliens have information about a parallel universe where a version of Himeko Murata (welt’s dead former student) exists.

It’s a little unclear how they end up hopping universes together, but they do. That’s when star rail Himeko finds them stranded and welcomes them aboard the astral express. It’s never explicitly stated how long the og astral express trio was together, but at some point before the beginning of hsr’s main story, Void Archives left the express.

Ok even though I do in my brain know that they aren't going to have Welt pull any weird herrscher shit this early in the life of the game, part of this kinda came off as a bit of a bait and switch to me? Ok probably not the word but .

So the thing with this update is the reveal that we have been in the dream since we first got to penacony and hallucinated Acheron. She's maybe the first to wake up from the dream because nihility (also detail to note: this probably means that under normal circumstances Acheron is probably a lot less likely to get lost everywhere) alongside others like Robin and Swan. Now what bugs me is this:

Why didn't Welt wake up on his own??? Ok there may be other reasons for that, such as him being unlikely to realize he is already in the dream but it bugs me deeply to remember that he pretty much foreshadowed the end plan by talking about project stigma early on (really fed me there tho) and then he somehow seems more resistant to considering it happened? Also that they brought up Nihility helping people wake and Welt is a nihility character...

This is one of those things where yeah there may be more reasons sure, but looking at it from a writing point of view it feels like the one and only truly loose end of this update. I could retcon it all to make sense though... I have a little bit of an idea that Welt may be like Dan Heng and have his own secret secondary path that isn't nihility cause this is just my thoughts but why did all the other nihility characters wake up before him :( I think we are likely having another update in penacony though and that's awesome cause tackling this or not I feel like the story would benefit from another Acheron and Welt interaction

I’m not sure if it’s a plot hole or whatever but the likely meta explanation is that Hoyo didn’t want to get too deep into yhe HI3 stuff this early. They teased us with references via Acheron and the mention of Project Stigma but I guess they didn’t want shift the focus of the entire arc onto those characters.

or maybe Welt didn’t notice bc he’s really not as powerful as he used to be. He might still be a Herrscher but from what we’ve seen so far, Honkai either hasn’t manifested in the HSR universe or the form it’s manifesting in is unfamiliar, so maybe he’s cut off from his power source, so to speak? In Welts world, all Honkai is being siphoned and contained to the moon and people who were considered Herrschers (like Raiden Mei) are no longer considered such, even though they’re still powerful.

the problem is that right now, we don’t have much idea how strong Welt really is. He subdued the stellaron in the Belobog arc, so we can guess he’s still relatively strong, but since his character still maintains some mystery in the current storyline, we don’t have reference for how strong he still is.

jellyfish are very high in protein, and half of this is in the form of collagen (great for your joints, skin, muscles, and hair) plus low in carbs and fat

they are flavorless and have a crisp crunch to them, and will absorb the flavor of whatever they're marinated in. you can prepare them to taste however you want!!
