HSR 4.4
“I can prove that we can move forward without making these so-called sacrifices!”
4.4 Planarcadia thoughts [part 3]
***Spoiler warning*** for Himeko. And Motoko. And literally everything about them. Among with many tears. I dunno how to describe it all really.. just a bunch of emotions and pretty much everything I was so nervous for during this story. All that together in the same post. Because heartbreak. But I’ll stop the rambling and sobbing right before we meet our other self again. At this point I’ve already completed the story, so be wary if I mention anything that may happen after these scenes.
4.4 Planarcadia thoughts [part 2]
***Spoiler warning*** for Asat Pramad’s insane question game up until the Astral Express crew arrives to assist us with the boss fight. As always, don’t read further if you haven’t completed the story as of yet incase I mention anything that happens after the aforementioned scenes. But if you wanna take a peak at some possible different questions that perhaps you decided not to ask Asat Pramad, then go ahead. I certainly can’t stop you. I apologize in advance for how text heavy this post may appear. Our silly lord ravager does love to yap.
4.4 Planarcadia thoughts [part 1]
***Spoiler warning*** for everything from the start of the story quest, Himeko’s memories, meeting everyone at the train station, up until Yao Guang disappears on us. Also be wary if I just so happen to mention things that occur way later. I was lucky enough to snag a day off work after release to complete the story mission early, all at once because I knew everything about Himeko was gonna get me emotional and I couldn’t possibly imagine finishing this experience in pieces.

The Power of Imagination
A brief analysis of Himeko's character [contains spoilers for the most recent mission, 4.4, of Honkai Star Rail]
"Why are a strong spirit and mind just as valuable as a capable and strong body?"
Hello there! I was truly moved by Himeko's story and some of her lines during the mission, so I decided to write about what actually kept her alive all these years. Hope you enjoy it! Any comments are welcome ^^
The girl's world had shrunk to just herself. The hospital's stark white sheets and curtains were like cold, impassive walls, sealing her off from the warm faces she kept in her memories.
"Don't worry, Himeko. You're smart. You'll catch up even if you miss a few days!"
"Himeko, you have to get better soon. We're still doing the model contest together!"
"Himeko... we graduated without you..."
From Himeko Nova's Character Story I.
Himeko's biggest dilemma lies primarily in the physical world: a frail body dominated by an incurable disease. Her condition prevented her from living life like a normal young woman. On the contrary, she spent much of her life in hospitals (which she always tried to escape from), surrounded by doctors and medicines, fleeing death every day. What she admired most about Motoko was her ability to stand on her own and explore the world, something Himeko could never achieve, regardless of the strength of her goals. This external fragility, however, never shook her inner vital force. Himeko was always determined to bring her dreams and drawings to reality. And if she were to die, she wanted to die in the place that most closely resembled her inner fantasies: "where the stars are within reach."
Icy comets streaked across the sky before the moon like a cascade of shimmering gemstones. When the storm arrived, the girl held her hand tightly, dodging the debris from the planetary rings, and when the sky calmed again, the two watched the Sagittarius meteors streak across the sky above the tranquil harbor... "She's so brave... just like the navigators I've read about..."
Desires are like ink, each yearning for a brushstroke to give shape to the ideal.
From Himeko Nova's Character Story I.
What I think stands out most about Himeko's character is precisely her inner world, which manifests itself mainly through her imagination and her will. After all, it was her imagination that gave life to her two greatest creations: Motoko and the Starblazer. Her ideals for the future, her dreams of the universe, her passion for the Trailblaze, and her longing for the journey aboard the Astral Express... all of this has always been Himeko's greatest strength. Her external world may be sad and limited, but her inner life is rich and full of possibilities. Himeko emphasized that she couldn't accomplish great things on her own, that she needed Motoko for that, but in the end, she always possessed the determination to explore—the main cog in the machine that keeps a dream alive. The only things that made her hesitate were her physical condition and the fact that death was always so close. Without the degenerative disease, we have the Himeko we know now: optimistic, persevering, compassionate, and ready to face any challenge. Motoko was the body Himeko needed to achieve her dreams. But without her inner richness, Motoko would never have existed, and Himeko would have remained unable to reach her ideal. For Motoko to exist, Himeko first had to dream. Her imagination was the driving force that gave birth to life—her life.
She begins to cough violently, struggling to hold the brush firmly. The time she has left before she can no longer move freely is limited, and to get the Express running again, she can only dedicate that remaining time to the last second.
"I'm so envious of Motoko . No need for treatments or sleep... That must free up a lot of time!"
The girl known as Motoko gave her a light pat on the head. "Well, that's exactly why you imagined me, silly... I'll help you achieve your dream of reaching for the stars."
From Himeko Nova's Character Story II.
That is why Himeko later dedicates herself so completely to repairing the Astral Express. More than fixing a train, she was rebuilding the very possibility of the future she had dreamed about for so long. For someone who once believed her body would never allow her to travel, restoring the Express was also a way of restoring hope itself. Her passion for the Astral Express and the Trailblaze overcame the limitations of the life that insisted on keeping her away from the journey she longed for. In the end, it was her will and her imagination that saved her. That, in my view, is something beautiful.
Inner passions fuel a person's strength in incredible ways. Sometimes, instead of seeking motivation externally, we need to look inward and find a feeling, a philosophy of life, or a dream that reminds us why we continue to face challenges. No matter how small what motivates you may seem, as long as your soul continues to burn for it, it will be worthwhile. To feel, to imagine, and to dream are, perhaps, among humanity's greatest strengths.
"Countless shooting stars streak across the night sky... If you can pick the right one, it will carry your wish to thousands of distant worlds."
From Akivili ♡
Himeko is for neurodivergent people and those with physical disabilities or chronic illnesses who dream of a future where they can become the very best version of themselves
Himeko Nova Trailers thoughts
Brain dumping thoughts on the character trailers before playing 4.4 especially since they've been bouncing around my brain from having to wait a few extra days before playing. Also, these trailers, specifically the Animated Short and the Character trailer are my new favorites, right up there with Firefly's trailers for me. As with anything don't read below unless as there will be spoilers!
