Just finished reading The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver and I absolutely loved it. It’s a heartwarming story of found family and survival. I aspire to be as determined as Taylor. She left Kentucky with nothing and found everything. This book made me want to move to Arizona just to experience the first rain as they did. This book reminded me that no matter what happens, life and love will always find a way to prosper, even if it’s not how you had planned it to be. The Bean Trees deals with many sensitive topics such as childhood abuse and sexual assault, depression, suicide, death, racism, and immigration, among other things. Overall it is a beautifully inspiring story of love and healing and I would recommend it to anyone.
