I wish libraries did adult reading programs in winter. During the summer, I'm so busy between cooking, cleaning, gardening, working, and whatever other plans other people make for me that I don't have much time to sit and read.
That said, I started reading The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver last night and I'm hooked. I like a lot of books, but it's rare for me to find one that I can't easily put down. I borrowed it from the library thinking that I wouldn't care for it. I'm only three chapters in, and it feels like a good read for gardeners! I've heard Kingsolver writes a lot about garden plants and livestock.
