Is your hair color black like opera? If so then how did you not get mistaken for kalego like they did
"Oh~? My hair is indeed black, but I think there's a few misconceptions in you question there."
"Firstly, Opera has red hair these days. Secondly, my hair back then was red as well. Thirdly, I just wore the girl's uniform instead of mixing and matching like they did, so the second part of the Top Dog description wouldn't have fit me either. And fourthly, I think you'll find it was Kalego who got mistaken for Opera, not the other way around~"✨️
Unfortunately, yes.
It was pure gold hearing you'd gotten into EIGHT fights in your first month. Nearly burst my appendix open laughing the first time!
Only to swallow said stomach when Father requested an explanation, I'm sure.
I had to give one myself.
Right...

Professor Uncle, do you have any embarrassing stories of adult Kalego? I'll pay.
Feeling peckish.
Now about that money~
@eternally-respected-uncle You're dead to me.
Way to strike a man while he's hungover!
I hope your headache gets worse.
But take the medicine Shichiro sent you, so it doesn't.
...Love you too, Kalego-chan.
😘

Now about that money~
Take your pics now, it's going down in 20. (I'm feeling generous.)
Thank you! It's a joy to work together. I've sent the vil.
Though, I'm not sure if you're messing with me... Why is Kalego a cute, chubby little bird?
Well would you look at the time! 20 min!

[Uncle takes a bite of his food.]
"I mean...Nighty was never a familial man growing up. More a 'Proud to be Naberius' man, you know?" [He points his spoon to Kalego,]
"I could at least try and tell you about your father. Kalego-chan? At least...as much as I remember."
. . . Very well.
[Uncle meets his eyes for a moment.]
"My childhood wasn't sunshine and lollipops, just so you know, Kalego-chan. Hell, I'd say it was bad, even by our clan's standards." [He pokes his food again. He pauses, letting the words set in before speaking again.]
"You know how most children got their Cerberus at ages...seven to nine...right?" [He smiles, but it doesn't reach his eyes. The lingering alcohol making him loose-lipped ] "That wasn't the case with me,"
[Mod here! The next posts will delve in Uncle and his childhood. The Hcs can get a bit dark, referencing the TWs of the earlier post, so I suggest you read thise before continuing here.]
[Kalego leans forward, paying attention, but otherwise lets his uncle speak at his own pace.]
[Tw: Emotional Neglict growing up/Ignoring a child]
"I was fourteen when it finally happened."
[He puts down his utensils, taking a sip of water.]
"From there..." [He shook his head] "Until that point...I'd just never heard my name spoken so many times before."
"It was always 'The other son', the 'runt' or some other name they called me. It took some time, getting used to hearing 'Kyo' spoken aloud."
That must have been . . . difficult.
[TW, Ref: Dog attacks, incl. Biting]
[Kyo nods]
"I guess..? But hey, I finally saw my Cerberus. So it wasn't too bad." [He folded his hands, thumbs rubbing over each other.]
"But then came the actual training...you know?" [He suddered faintly as he remebered the next part]
The discipline training is rough for everyone as far as I know.
Like you said, it leaves its marks behind on most in the family.
[Allusions to dog attacks]
"Yea. It does. I never saw Nighty's, and I don't think you saw- your brother's." [he said, peeking up at Kalego again.]
"Sometimes it was scratches, other times it was bites." [He loosenes his grip on the blanket slightly. The faint outline on his right shoulder catching the light]
"Most of the time they heal up well. ...escpecially if you start training cerberus ewhile you yourself's young."
[Kalego nods to convey that he didn't get to see his brother's discipline training of his cerberus.]
. . .
[Kalego clearly notices the marks but does not point them out. He has his own.]
However, you were older than most.
[Kyo nods]
"So was Cerberus. We were like two hormonal teenagers filled with angst, and we spent a lot of time tearing each other down because of it." [He adjusts the blanket again]
"...That's where your father came in, Kalego-chan. Two years later." [He looked at Kalego]
. . . Father did?
[Kyo nods, twidling his thumbs]
~~Flashback~~
The scent of rich meats and gorund spices drifted in from the closed kitchen door as Kyo sat at the dinner table. His hair was shorter at that time, but still wild and curly like it had been since his early childhood. He swung his legs back and fourth, his fancy shoes weakly scraping against the tiled floors from time to time as he waited for his brother.
He's readjusted his tie twice, checked the cuffs of his shirt three times, and even sneakily re-wrapped the bandage on his right forearm before the double door on his right opened.
There, standing in his Border Patrol Uniform despite only being a Babyls fourth-year, was Knightwalker.
"Ah, Kyo."
[The boy, or rather, the young man, immediately perked up. He'd still not gotten used to hearing his name spoken so casually. Even after two years of being adressed by it.]
[His brother's voice was warm, loving with a small smile pulling at his lips.]
"Brother!"
[Kyo was surprised to see him alone. Normally, Knightwalker came with mother or following after father. The servers slowly began bringing out the food as the older brother slid into the seat across from Kyo like it was his birthright. ]
"It's good to see you."
[Kyo greeted, remembering his manners.]
[Knightwalker smiled back. The same smile Kyo had only seen him direct at others. The fact he smiled at him made Kyo feel above the world.]
"I heard you managed to command Cerberus?" [Knightwalker asked as a server brought out a steak]
[Kalego waits for his uncle to continue, but he finds the look on his face unsettling.]
"...I told him how Cerberus finally obeyed me, he told me that mother and father were busy, and it'd only be us eating that night. He then gave me large cuts of the food, and asked if I needed help moving into the dorms."
[His eyes wandered to the utensils.]
"We never talked much before that dinner...or afterwards."
[He begins to tell Kalego what happened.]
~~Flashback~~ [TW: Condecending/Hurtful words?]
"I'm kinda nervous, honestly." [Kyo said eating slowly, eyes flickering to his brother, who ate calmly.] "Babyls is a big school and all."
"You'll be fine, Kyo." [Knightwalker responded, chewing a piece of meat.] "You're my brother after all."
[Kyo blinked. His own food falling of his fork. His brother...]
[Knightwalker. The Knightwalker. The early bloomer of the two. A prodigy even amongst prodigies... He was acknowledging Kyo as His Brother.]
"A-are you sure?" [He asked, eyes wide. Setting the fork down and staring intently at his brother.]
[Knightwalker nods, resting his chin in his hand as he points his fork at Kyo.] "I mean, now that you've finally got your Cerberus to obey, no one will care that you were a late bloomer."
[Kyo shrank a little into himself. The words hit hurt, but Knighty was smiling...so he must've meant it like a good thing!]
"Yea." [He nodded, trying not to show he was still sensitive about it.] "I'm your brother."
[Knightwalker's smile widened just slightly, their eyes meeting acroos the table.] "That's right. You're my little brother, Kyo. So there's no way you'll embaresss me, or our family even more, right?"
That . . . That sounds exactly like Father, yes.
So, he's always been like that, I see.
[Kalego pauses and waits to see if anything else is forthcoming.]
[Kyo just shakes his head, his gaze dropping to his food again.]
"That's all I have. We weren't close, and though I started at Babyls that year, since he was older... I'm sorry, Kalego-chan-" [His voice falters.]
You have nothing to apologise for regarding that or how little either of us knows Father. It was his decision, so the only one I hold that against is him.
[Kyo lets these words sink in. He nods once, but digging through his emotions and childhood cracked something open.]
[He brings a hand up to his eyes, wiping away a tear that slipped out. Then another. And another. Before he can stop it, tears are flowing down his cheeks.]
(Mod: Yo. srry if I'm dragging this out, I just wanted some comfort for Kyo after everything he went through)
[Kalego has no idea what to do. Comforting people is not a skill that he's practised that much, but he has to try.]
[Kalego moves around the table and puts a hand—awkwardly but gently—on one of his uncle's shoulders.]
[Kyo doesn't say anything. His breath hitches, soft sounds escaping his lips as he just...cries]
[Kalego pauses, trying to think of something that he can actually do to help.]
Uncle. . . Kyo. . . I don't know how to help you after how Father hurt you. I don't even know how to help myself after how he hurt me. . . but I'm not going anywhere.
[Kalego pauses again, still trying to figure out which problems he can solve when there are many that he can't.]
I think something that might help would be for you to finish your food and water. . . . You should feel better afterwards.
[Kyo nods, but it seems it'll take some time for him to calm down again.]
[Kalego tightens his hold on his uncle's shoulder very slightly.]
It'll take the time that it takes, but at least drink the water. Crying while dehydrated and drunk is definitely not good for you.
Also, Shichiro claims it's physically impossible to cry while drinking water. I don't know if that's true, but he would know more about it than me.
[Kyo finally manages to calm himself enough to drink, if only just a little.]
