In some cases of Monster Hunter, it may seem odd how certain monsties don't have the potential for certain ailments despite plain anatomical or chemical bias for potential. Sometimes a higher ranked version or variation of a monstie adds an ailment (HR Bishatens, for example, can use paralyzing fruits whilst LR Bishatens cannot, likewise to Ruiners having Bleed while standard Nergis don't) but there are some egregious cases. Bleed is the obvious one. Fundamentally, you can figure any monster can inflict bleed by virtue of just injuring something. But it's odd that certain creatures who have very noticeable cutting appendages are unable to inflict it. Likewise to other ailments. Almudron uses powerful acids to dissolve ground into mud (and even makes it hazardous to step into) whilst Vaal Hazak roams the acidic waters of the Vale with ease, but neither of them can afflict the acid-associated Defence Down status. What of Radobaan? Nakarkos introduces a mechanic where it first coats you in tar and then the bones of its lair can affix to you to impede mobility. Radobaan is also a tar monster in a bone lair but does no such thing. So, a coalition then for monsties who I feel could be using some more unique status ailments.
