Digimon Tamers 34 - Where is Terriermon? Shaochung Goes to the Digital World / Rabbit Transit

Previously on Digimon Tamers: Takato and Jianliang went to school but the teacher was tripping balls and it was hard to tell what he was talking about. But at the end of class, he offered to get them even higher than he is so it wasn't a complete loss.

Shaochung's pink is the same shade of pink as Lopmon, blatant color coding since the very beggining (as we have known our 6 Tamers and Kenta since episode 1 after all). Big difference with Hikari in that Hikari was sickly and had an eerie mysticism going on, while Shaochung is, well, Shaochung.

Deva Andiramon also wears a neckerchief like the other Devas; the redesign makes it look more in line with the rest of the group, AND makes the original, Virus Andiramon look like a rogue element, a corrupt version of what it should be. And, after all, that Andiramon turned into the fallen version of Cherubimon, while this one is meant to go into the regular version of Cherubimon. Still, doesn't portray the corruption as well as Wendigomon does, brr. Both Andiramon carry themselves in a stoic and still way, Anyway, get used to the black tiles with red light area, we are here for a three parter now, as we begin the trauma stretch of the series that will last until the end.

I feel so insane about ai. I've had face-to-face conversations with people who use it for therapy, who use it to calculate the safety of pill interactions, who use it for all their emails and grant applications and legal documents and academic papers and finance sheets and for every single question they have about the world, and if you tell them about the ecological costs they just laugh and say "I guess I've used a lot of water." and I've been in multiple gatherings of 10+ people where I'm THE ONLY PERSON who doesn't use chatgpt. it's turning me into a ranting raving pariah, because how don't you people see??? why don't you understand??????? this bullshit didn't exist five years ago, you absolutely do not need it, and it is destroying everything

my friend just had an art show and they were communicating with the gallerist over email. They could clearly tell that the gallerist was using AI to respond to their emails, but just rolled their eyes and moved on.

and then on the day of the show, my friend asks, "where is the camera I requested?"

gallerist: "you didn't request a camera"

my friend: "I did, and you confirmed that you would have one here."

gallerist: "that isn't true."

and then she proceeded to pull up the email thread, and my friend could see that every single email they had sent had been summarized by AI, and that the gallerist had then had AI write a response to them based on the AI summary, and that the AI had detected that they needed a camera, and confirmed on behalf of the gallerist that they would bring a camera, but because the gallerist had offloaded the work of actually reading and responding, she simply hadn't actually made any note of it herself, therefore didn't bring it, nor did she even know one was needed.

so my friend had done all of this communication about their needs and expectations to be able to make the show possible, and the person whose job it was to read that information and get it done had simply.... not read the information and not done it. because AI.

even before i lived in a place with a massive population of feral cats decimating the wildlife i had read the studies and knew the data said that TNR did not work and we need to be trapping and euthanizing feral cats but now that i’ve lived in a place where there are an enormous number of feral cats it’s like, inconceivable to me that anyone supports TNR, not just for the health of the world but for the sake of the fucking cats

We have a solution to a massive, massive problem that is more humane, cheaper, easier, takes less time, prevents animal suffering, and saves valuable members of our disappearing ecosystem. it works. It works. It is better for the cats. It’s better for the cats. Living in a place where you cannot drive 10 minutes without seeing a new roadkill cat almost every single day really makes you think about how much suffering could have been prevented if we just dealt with the problem we have created. It’s not a pleasant way to go, being hit by a car. Or being ripped apart by a predator, or eating a poison, or starving to death, of dying of an infection, or an illness, or any of the hundred thousand ways an animal in the wild passes without human intervention. Euthanasia is simply falling asleep. It is fucking wild to me that saying you think we should take responsibility for our mistakes and ensure that cats fall asleep peacefully instead of capturing them and then hurling them back out into the world SPECIFICALLY in order to allow them to die in agony makes people treat you like a fucking serial killer.

And if you don’t care about cats dying in agony do you care about the world around you? There’s a species of bird we only know ever existed because someone’s cat brought home our only example. That’s horrific. We’ve lost so much biodiversity because we simply won’t listen to the research, which again, has proven that TNR is not effective.

I was at a friend's house to check on carcasses I had macerating in his yard. A little grey cat ran up to me, yelling her head off in friendliness and wanting nothing more than to be pet. I had nothing to give her but let my friend know he should catch her since she was so friendly. I am ashamed to admit I didn't give her much thought beyond that, finishing my work and giving her a last pet before going home.

My friend told me how he'd seen her before but she always vanished before he could catch her. He works far too many hours and is always tired so he couldn't prioritize catching this cat.

Three months pass with no sign of her. I go back with my partner to check on carcasses and this same little grey cat appears. This time, however, a tooth has been snapped off and her tongue is so badly cut that she can't keep it in her mouth. She was thin and dirty and screaming to please be given some food.

This time I couldn't look away. I asked my friend's girlfriend if I could borrow a cat carrier. She loaned me one and a tin of wet food that the grey cat willingly followed into the carrier. She didn't care at all about being put into the carrier - all she wanted was a hand on her. She'd arch up against the top just so my hand would rest on her back for a moment.

We drove through rush hour traffic to the only shelter still open. We knew we couldn't keep her and I couldn't stand the thought of putting her back out on the streets to die slowly.

The shelter couldn't take her. Her ear was clipped so she was a "community cat" and outside their ability to help. They tried desperately to offer alternatives to me as I cried over her carrier, knowing I couldn't take her home but also that if I didn't I couldn't live with the thought of her back on the streets.

I made a Hail Mary call to a local friend who is very connected in our city. They didn't have my number saved but answered all the same to hear me sobbing about a cat I'd found and to please help me find a place for her. Please. If I don't find something then she'll be alone on the streets again to die.

My friend came through. I could keep the cat in their garage overnight and in the morning my friend would be back in the city and could find someone to help the cat.

The shelter folk gave me a crate and some food - their hands were tied but they didn't want to leave me with nothing. They were good people doing the best they could in their own system. Community cats were ones they weren't allowed to "waste" resources on. Ostensibly they'd been dealt with and their fate decided. There was nothing the shelter folks were allowed to do for them.

I took the cat to my friend's garage. She was settled into a crate on towels, happy as a clam to be warm and safe. This was a cat made to be loved and to love, as she immediately began trying to groom one of my friend's roommates. He stayed in the garage with her, giving her food and water and in exchange having no say on whether she was in his lap or not. She was always in his lap.

Nobby Nobbs (so named for the only other character known to man that is as scrungly as she is) was then formally adopted by my friend. Her tongue has healed, her fur remains scrungly, and she's every bit the rabid love bug I suspected her to be when she came to me yelling to be pet.

She's a TNR cat. Someone thought they were doing her a kindness in that and if nothing else she didn't add kittens to the world but that doesn't negate the pain she suffered before I found her - the broken teeth, the lacerated tongue, the ulcerated cheeks, the flea-bald patchiness of her coat.

I say this as someone who adores this cat and has the privilege to see her loved and cherished: I wish she'd never had to suffer what she did. I wish people were alright making the harder call that leads to less misery on the side of the cats.

TNR is a polite fiction, nothing more. Just so the humans can pretend they've done right by the same cats they're letting loose to die miserably somewhere else. As long as the humans don't see it it's fine.

The shelter folks told me she's a community cat and that I could take her home and release her by my house. Then I could feed her myself and keep up with her and know where she was! I could still keep her, after a fashion.

I am not proud of how I snarled back that I would never exchange a quick death for a slow one. I would be giving her a different funeral plot, not giving her a life. Even near me she'd be just as vulnerable to the innumerable predators that find cats quite delicious, let alone cars and poisons and the other cruelties humans practice on stray cats.

She's the second stray cat I've met that when I held them the cat melted in my arms, purring and so desperately wanting to be loved. The first cat I was able to trap and take to a local shelter only to find when I called to check on him a day later that his health had been so terrible, so beyond help, that he'd been put down. All the love in that tiny body lost because the people I lived beside didn't care enough to trap the cats they had.

My partner was asleep. I woke her up to crawl into her arms and sob, my heart breaking for the stupidity of the humans who hadn't cared enough to grant this poor little cat the chance to be either an indoor cat, loved and cared for, or to grant him a quick death long before I met him. I've other stories of the cats they kept around, essentially feeding the poor souls to the predatory birds and wandering dogs that frequented our area.

TNR doesn't work. It is a lie humans tell ourselves so we can pretend we haven't failed these animals on a massive scale. Cats are invasive and cause massive harm in their turn. It is humanity who needs to deal with this crisis, this horror we've made, and I pray one day we look it square in the face and vow to make it right.

The franchise-wide role of the Devas is that of servants of the Four Holy Beasts; each Beast has 3 Devas as servants, and those Devas can do a 3-way jogress into the Beast. It doesn't quite work that way in Tamers tho.

There is more to be shown about Culumon, the DigiGnomes, and Shibumi; the later's outfit is quite telling in hindsight.

Next episode, we get some whimsy, before the final fourth of the series engages in the heavy topics!

Digimon Tamers 31 - Friendship with Guardromon! "I'll Fight Too!" ~Tamer Hirokazu / Kazu's Upgrade

Previously on Digimon Tamers: Ruki singlehandedly completed our mission while the boys badmouthed her behind her back. But then Hypnos decided they haven't blown up the sky in a while so they should do that again for funsies. Culumon wound up paying the price for it because Ruki can't have anything in this fucking Digital World.

Guardromon's Japanese VA, Kiyoyuki Yanada, also voiced Andromon in Adventure, so he also does the same thing as Leomon, where it is the same species as an old friend but a distinct character, even if similar. New doofus joins the group!

FWIW, while he doesn't go down to Child stage, the D-Power toy went with Kokuwamon for this character:

Natural evolutions regressing into lower forms when injured or throughly exhausted is something I believe is relatively common across the series; even in Adventure Tailmon ended up going back into Plotmon after exhausting herself, and she had naturally evolved into Adult. Still, fair point, I believe it is the first time we see this happen on a (then) wild Digimon. Orochimon is weird, not just in that it has the tangential references but ends up being an imitator: The Susanoo reference that gets added later down the line has no tangent with it, and Orochimon ends up getting evolutionary relatives around 2020, but they appear to reference Nidhogg of Norse mythology instead (and in a way that is suspiciously similar to Zygarde from Pokemon I'd say). Anyway, neat episode, Adventuresque rather than Tamers-esque, but neat character development (I'm a tad less fond of Adventuresque episodes in Frontier, despite that series being tonally closer to Adventure). But no issues, as next time we get LORE.

Story time:

In middle school biology, we did an experiment. We were given yams, which we would sprout in cups of water. We then had to make hypotheses about how the yams would grow, based on descriptions of yam plants in our books, and make notes of our observations as they grew.

Here’s what was supposed to happen: we were supposed to see that the actual growth of the plant did not resemble our hypotheses. We were then supposed to figure out that these were, in fact, sweet potatoes.

What actually happened was that every single student in every single class lied in their notes so that their observations perfectly matched their hypotheses. See, everyone assumed the mismatch meant they had done something wrong in the process of growing the plant or that they had misunderstood the dichotomous key or the plant identification terminology. And, thanks to the wonders of a public school education, everyone assumed the wrong results would get us a failing grade. We were trying to pass. We didn’t want to get bitched out by the teacher. Curiosity, learning, science - that had nothing to do with why we were sitting in that classroom. So we all lied.

The teacher was furious. She tried to fail every student, but the administration stepped in and told her she wasn’t allowed to because a 100% fail rate is recognized as a failure of the teacher, not the class. It wasn’t even her fault, really, though her being a notorious hard-ass didn’t help. It was a failure of the entire educational system.

So whenever I see crap like Elizabeth Holmes’s blood test scam or pharmaceutical trials which are unable to be replicated or industry-funded research that reaches wildly unscientific conclusions, I just remember those fucking sweet potatoes. I remember that curiosity dies when people are just trying to give their superiors the “right” answers, so they can get the grade, get the job, get the paycheck. It’s not about truth when it’s about paying rent. There’s no scientific integrity if you can’t control for human desperation.

Digimon Tamers 30 - Urgent Message from the Digital World; Culumon is.... / The Imperfect Storm

Previously on Digimon Tamers: Upon discovering another realm of the Digital World, the Tamers decided it was lame and went back to the desert. After punching out a Deva, Ryō got bored and decided he'd literally rather go grind XP than keep slumming it with the noobs, so he left. He tried to flirt with Ruki on his way out the door but she made the wise choice to be tactically AFK until he was gone.

You may notice the subtitles in these screencaps are a bit different. The source I was grabbing subtitled episodes for my screencaps from crapped out and forced me to resort to pulling off of Crunchyroll directly, which is a whole process that sucks.

Fortunately, I do my own translations, so this doesn't affect much. I just like having subtitles in the images for image context.

The biggest difference seems to be that Crunchyroll doesn't subtitle insert songs in the top left corner when they're playing. Which sucks because we have a new insert song this episode.

Also they sometimes use dub-friendly terms like "Digivolve" and then others they'll say "Shaggai" instead of "Juggernaut", so they go back and forth on which proper nouns they use.

Note: There's going to be a Censored and Edited Shots addendum to come, but that probably won't go up until tomorrow.

Always found funny how Diablomon-line 'mons just... exist in the Tamers verse. Glad to see Chrysalymon debut at last. Beelzebumon being the Great Demon Lord of Envy Gluttony points towards the Digimon God not being an angelic one, but rather something more neutral. And, one that has Perfects as servants, but still could manage an Ultimate to do a job. And, Beelzebumon being an Ultimate is quite tangential to a detail that kept popping up in the fandom; namely, what would be Impmon's Adult and Perfect stages? And, funny thing, for a main character, he didn't get new species made for that. CYBERDRAMON got an entire new line in the videogame, but Impmon, let's see... -The popular approach among the fanbase was to assume Boogiemon and Phelesmon, an Adult and Perfect pair of demon 'mons that were introduced together and intended to evolve one into the other, were that. They did debut in the card game AFTER Tamers was over, and no Tamers videogame had Impmon getting into Beelzebumon through them. Still, look kinda the part:

-The D-Power American toy had a line from Impmon to Beelzebumon, but, weirdly enough, it was made up of Meramon and DeathMeramon. Fire-happy imp -> Fire man -> Fire biker -> Demon lord biker I suppose?

-In Digimon Xros Wars, nearly a decade after Tamers aired, a Beelzebumon-related species, Baalmon, was introduced. The Xros Wars species had no level when first introduced, but a few years later they got their levels, and Baalmon became a Perfect. Has since then been used as Beelzebumon's Perfect, even in Tamers-related stuff:

As for the Adult, as a rule our old friend Wizarmon is used to bridge Impmon and Baalmon. I'd say it works reasonably fine. There is another Xros Wars species that had been used once as the Adult there, but it is a bit spoilery thematically-wise, and so will bring it back up in a few weeks. AND, Digimon Liberator in its entire "new species that evolve from classics" approach, has an entire line for Impmon going to Ultimate, and its perfect can evolve into Beelzebumon, but, again, thematically spoilery, will go back on it in a few weeks. (In case you haven't noticed, Beelzebumon has stuff going on bwahaha) Next time, we get a... Juri and Hirokazu episode? We are in for a trio of interesting episodes alright.

Let's say I really wanted to reduce the number of children who die in car accidents. Car accidents are really bad, right? Nobody disagrees about that. And it would be much better for both the environment and the kids' health if they spent more time walking, or taking the bus. Perfectly reasonable. More cars off the road, safer roads, fewer kids getting hurt, healthier kids. A win-win!

Therefore, let's ban children from traveling by car and require all cars to have a scanner on the door that scans the government ID of everyone who gets in the car to make sure no kids are in there. After all, kids get hurt in car accidents all the time! We need to ban this right away!

I think I mentioned it in another Ask or Reblog, but I can totally see Sonic but in a bad way. Ryō's a good look into how obnoxious a character like Sonic would be if he wasn't the power fantasy protagonist but instead just some guy who showed up and ran circles around the characters we like for a bit before peacing out to go be awesome somewhere else.

In a weird way, experiencing Ryō makes it easier to understand why some characters like Shadow hate Sonic's guts so much.

Shadow doesn't really hate Sonic's guts(at least pre-Sonic Colors) His reactions to him range from annoyance to "nothing personal" kicks him in the head. The thing that pisses Shadow most(if i had to guess) is that Sonic's way of going about things is very much the opposite of his and also the fact that Sonic is right more often than not. Sonic and Shadow have this begrudging respect for eachother, as seemingly opposite yet similar people, but can't really gel with eachother long-term(which makes the people that ship them very confusing/frustrating to me)

Digimon Tamers 29 - This is a Haunted Castle! The Lost Culumon's Great Escape / Goliath

Previously on Digimon Tamers: Hirokazu and Kenta fucked up again. At her limit with their incompetence, Ruki fired them both. Fortunately, they landed on their feet, picking up new jobs as gofers for Akiyama Ryō of Adventure fame. I think they're gonna be alright.

Yeah, once again, Ryo as an interdimensional traveler who has been retconned into the Tamers world could be an interesting concept to work with, but Ryo as a character is just background noise, and without the Millenniummon thingies he is just boring. Can do something with Ruki, but only for Ruki's character development, and the shipping angle doesn't work. Ryo as this dude who was good at cards, then was good at powering Cyberdramon up, is boring. Videogame player character is all he has.

Takato, you wear your heart on your sleeve as a rule, stop trying to look cool by pretending you are something you are not, she likes you as you are. Good save tho. Anyway, 1 deva down, and one which didn't really do much, but oh well, that's what happens when you have 12 minibosses, the remaining 2 appear to be active ones, and then we have the one we haven't seen yet. Back to the plot.

Digimon Tamers 28 - Friend or Foe!? The Legendary Tamer Akiyama Ryō / Blame It On Ryo

Previously on Digimon Tamers: Fearing that he'd be replaced by a puppy, Impmon inadvertently inspired the plot of Boss Baby. For this, God punished him by turning him into a punk biker.

One key aspect to get Ryo is his Japanese voice actor, Jun'ichi Kanemaru. He is voiced by Sonic the Hedgehog. Ryo remains a video game protagonist as a character. He does quests and beats up opponents, and is innately good at both the main combat system and at the sidequest card game system, but has no character depth because all he is is a vehicle for a self insert. No arc, grunt work, can get Ruki to self-reflect, because getting reminded of her one failure in her comfort occupation before all this started, after being stuck with these 2 guys, ought to bring back old habits. Because, knowing how Ruki was at the start of the series, she OUGHT to have spent months ruminating about the one guy who beat her, and then fucking disappeared and couldn't rematch. All the victories afterwards wouldn't really scratch the itch. And, from a Doylist perspective, Ryo was mandated into the series, so there wasn't really much of an interest into developing him. He is there, having fun playing Digimon. Cyberdramon, well, is pretty much confirmed to be the Brave Tamer character as well, and thus is technically also Millenniummon, which means he is also technically both the guy responsible for Apocalymon breaching the firewall, and also both the Dark Master Mugendramon, and the Kaiser's Chimeramon. Weird campfire mate that's for sure. Still, a Pendulum Digimon, which Brave Tamer gave an entire evolution line with main 'mon Monodramon, and which bled into at least the American D-Power toy:

Former standalone Perfect Cyberdramon got Child Monodramon, Adult Strikedramon and Ultimate Justimon. And, well, I'm a sucker for Xenomorph-influenced designs, but, this Cyberdramon is an edgy fuck; guess having the timeline consumer as part of your being isn't really good for your mental health. Buut yeah, this guy isn't much of a character, and more of a mandated extended cameo of a video game player character, whose main narrative purpose is either providing muscle, or giving Ruki somebody to resent but without a complicated family history; a friendly rival from a time in her life when she didn't do friends. Can work well for her, but he is no engaging character on his own.

As I brought up in my post, whether Brave Tamer is canon (and thus whether Cyberdramon is partially Millenniummon) or not is complicated.

But from what I've read the idea that the Machinedramon and Kimeramon that merged to become Millenniummon are the specifically the Dark Masters' Machinedramon and the Kimeramon that Ken created is pure fanon, with nothing in the actual games or supplementary material to back it up, and fans tends to overly complicate and inflate Millenniummon's actual importance.

And whilst there is some material that says Millenniummon is responsible for Apocalymon, said material tends to be vague and contradictory especially when it comes to translations with some saying that Apocalymon was a by-product of Millenniummon's darkness or that Apocalymon simply appeared because of Millenniummon but wasn't like actively created by him. And either way this contradicts the official backstory given in both Digimon Adventure and interviews with the staff who worked on Digimon Adventure.

The second Ryo video game Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers also stated that Millenniummon created Diaboromon, but that was only included due to the fact that both the creators of the first Ryo video game Digimon Adventure: Cathode Tamer/Anode Tamer and the creators of the Digimon Adventure movie Our War Game both independently created villains that were meant to be the anthropomorphic personifications of the Y2K bug, without the others knowledge, and so this was just thrown in as a handwave to that contradiction. Which would have needed to have been addressed, since Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers starts with Ryo and Ken watching the final battle of Our War Game before Veemon shows up gives them their D-3 Digivices and takes them to the Digital World.

Digimon Tamers 27 - Impmon Evolves! The Terror of Demon Lord Beelzebumon / Motorcycle Madness

Previously on Digimon Tamers: Hirokazu and Kenta adopted a pair of doting grandparents who adored everything they do. But Ruki informed them that the pair of them being liked by someone isn't canon-compliant.

Kenta: What, compliant to what? We don't have a manga to follow. Ruki: Compliant to REALITY!!!

So they had to say goodbye and march back into the miserable desert.

This episode, Davis promises we'll find out whether Rika, Kazu, and Kenta will have better luck finding Culumon, or if their glider will crash before they can. Let's go!

I recall MudFrigimon being used on Digimon World, but it may had been an European localization deal? I know a friend had lend me the Spanish version (which had a progression-breaking bug that made it almost impossible to finish), then I got the UK Platinum version which AFAIK was the least buggy version of the game, but 20 years later I only have access to the US version I believe? And I get the feeling the Spanish Tamers dub may had used MudFrigimon? Dunno if I'm Mandela effect-ing myself, my bad.

Anyway, now we only have one deva left to see, the rabbit and we all know what to expect. The way the dog resembles Shisamon has always been a bit uncanny, as if they were to do something before not working on any sort of connection? And, well, Beelzebumon... We haven't seen him getting analyzed so we don't even have its level (although, well, been near a quarter of a century and there is quite a bit of franchise-wide familiarity hehe), and thus will wait for the next time we see him to talk a bit of trivia. Quite interesting how you talk about the connection to Envy, I agree and have a bit of a rant related to that hehe. Next time, tie-ins and their execution as we check on our other group!

it’s not about actually being gifted, it’s about an initial higher scoring on standardized testing that means little to nothing or being good at learning in the way elementary and middle school wants you to, so you get marked as ‘advanced’. in reality, maybe you had faster development in certain areas, but the issue with being a gifted kid isn’t that “everyone told me I was so cool and special for reading and then I actually wasn’t :(” it’s “I wasn’t properly taught to handle things not coming easily to me, but the adults around me were counting on me not being a ‘difficult’ child in school.”

people who use it as some weird bragging method or interpret it that way are ignoring the way a lot of school systems force certain roles on students to simplify the learning process. If your kid doesn’t need to take notes to understand a science concept bc they get it naturally, well that’s good, but now you’re not teaching them how to take notes and they’re not learning that important soft skill. but because ‘gifted’ kids are easy and don’t show that they’re falling behind in learning in other categories that are harder to quantify, they eventually fall behind after that catches up to them. It’s about the failures of a one size fits all school system trying to compensate in the worst way possible.

And also the thing where ‘gifted’ kids are super likely to also be neuroatypical, which they don’t get screened for because they appear to be doing well in school. Or “You can’t be ADHD/autistic/etc, because you’re doing so well in school!”. Or being shamed for developing mental health issues/generally not being able to keep up with school work later, because you USED TO BE able to do it just fine.

Or the assumption that just because you can read well or you like math class, you’re somehow more EMOTIONALLY mature than your little kid brain is actually capable of being.

Or gifted kids whose parents and teachers put immense pressure on them to Do Great Things and Save The World and you’re like. “I’m 10 and I have no idea how to do that, but everyone is saying that’s my job?”.

This is the best “gifted kid” post out there. I never took notes until college because I didn’t have to, snd when it got challenging I had to literally teach myself note taking at age 18. It also fucks with your perception of asking for help - you’re advanced, you’re competent, you should be able to understand every topic easily. Asking for help/going to office hours/asking for a tutor feels like failing when you were praised in your early years for not needing to do that.

And it is actually a neurodivergence, involving decoupled cognitive and emotional development, and often presenting alongside ADHD and/or ASD. Which often were misdiagnosed and lumped with that, because "kid smart but weird". And the fucking name it gets makes things worse, because you either see people pretending other neurodivergences don't exist and their kid got "the good one", or people pretending this one doesn't exist, and all there is is ADHD and ASD. But the kid who thinks like an 8 year old yet feels like a 5 year old at age 5 shouldn't be just defined by how well they do schoolwork for kids aged 5.

Digimon Tamers 26 - A Small World! Jijimon and Babamon of the Deep Windy Valley / Kazu and Kenta's Excellent Adventure

Previously on Digimon Tamers: The Tamers arrived in the Digital World and spent all day staring at the sun. Then they made a campfire but it was buried in a potato landslide. Despite starving, nobody thought to bring any potatoes with them because they're 10 and would rather eat cookies than vegetables.

This episode, Davis promised that we're going to find out what the data stream will do to Rika, Kazu, and Kenta! Seems like a safe bet. Let's go!

Oh, and the dub title is a reference to Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure but this episode has nothing to do with time travel, so it's just comparing them strictly on the basis of personality alone. Rude. XD

Heh, entire episode without Takato and Jian, but not quite a Ruki episode because, rather than dealing with inner demons, she is dealing with huge dorks bwahaha.

I believe Babamon also played a role similar to Jijimon's Digimon World role; the Digital Card Battle game for the PSX. I'd say the joke with both of them is that they are at the highest level explicity because they are very old, rather than the legendary power of natural Ultimates.
